We need to remake our law schools. And we need to do it now.
Many of us with a legal background have been stunned by the willingness of numerous lower court judges to simply disregard the law and to spout political rants from the bench.
Both Biden and Obama did tremendous damage to this country, but perhaps nowhere as much as their appointments of extreme radicals to the lower court benches.
These judges' own words make clear that they see themselves as social justice activists first, and jurists second.
But where did all of these lawless judges come from?
The Alt Left radicalization of law school faculty over the last couple of decades is one of the biggest untold stories - - and one of the greatest threats we face going forward.
Many seasoned lawyers would find the curriculum and content that is now taught in law schools utterly unrecognizable.
Like a dangerous virus, these law schools, led by hyper-progressive academics, have been replicating legions of Alt Left lawyers who are becoming judges and government officials.
They have no respect for our Constitution and the western notion that even your political opponents are entitled to due process.
If you doubt this, I would respectfully remind you of the Left's efforts to imprison their main political opponent and their crusade to remove him from the ballot in numerous states - all aided by numerous Alt Left judges.
I would also remind you of the unprecedented prosecution and imprisonment of numerous peaceful January 6 protesters.
These new wave judges could care less about the law. Instead, they have been baptized in the holy fire of social justice, and have pledged allegiance to their own untethered sense of self-righteousness and political emotion.
This state of affairs cannot continue for long before something irreparable breaks.
The Trump administration and Congress need to act decisively, while they still can, to restore political balance to all law schools that receive federal funds.
Among other things, they need to ensure that the faculty in these law schools are not closed shops that exclude anyone who does not worship at the progressive altar.
They also need to set up a law school accreditation process that does not rely on the approval of the far Left American Bar Association (ABA).
The time to act now.
In fact, this may be the last time to act for a long time.
Wall Street Journal columnist Gerard Baker‘s latest OpEd advocating for the election of candidates James Talarico and Amy Acton is a mini masterclass in RINO obliviousness.
And it illustrates his fundamental misunderstanding of why Trump was elected, twice.
To be sure, there are many things that President Trump has said that are cause for concern.
But Trump’s actual policies and focus have been consistently designed to rectify decades of feckless compromise politics (often between the far left and RINO moderates) that have put the country on a path to destruction.
Like many in America, I was a reluctant and slow convert to the world of Trump -- in large part because of his unconventional approach, outrageous rhetoric and personal attacks.
But sometimes a car that is going off a cliff needs to veer sharply into oncoming traffic to avoid an even worse disaster.
The country saw this, and put Trump in office, twice.
Why? They understood that the alternatives are far worse.
It’s a shame that Gerard Baker (and most of the @WSJ editorial board) doesn’t understand this or spectacularly underestimates the havoc and long-term damage that the far left will do if they regain power during this pivotal time.
Listen to his misguided political musings on election day at your own peril.
The #Republican Party is in need of radical reformation. It has succumbed eagerly to the whims of an authoritarian leader. #WSJopinion wsj.com/opinion/these-republ…

Since July 2019, residential electricity prices in New York have climbed 60.4%.
Governor Hochul can talk about affordability all she wants.
New Yorkers see the reality every time they open their electric bills.
One of the many reasons that
life-long New Yorkers are fleeing the state in record numbers.
Vote for Hochul if you want more of the same disastrous policies.
New York's Kathy Hochul ranked worst governor in US as part of scathing new study trib.al/YRL6Nm2
Dear New Yorkers:
Please remember that your electricity bills are 62% higher than the national average – – not because of Donald Trump – – but because hapless Governor Kathy Hochul is in bed with the radical green Left.

Ro Khanna, who’s worth $300 million, just basically said burning your city down is fine as long as it’s about “wealth inequality.” This is who the Democrats are. Don’t forget it.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in.
In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes.
In Spain, for affordable rent and housing.
In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption.
@JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south.
He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment.
The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few.
This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future.
In America, let us listen to our young.
We need an economic and political transformation.

What has happened to the WSJ?
I’ve subscribed for years.
But the financial information is largely gone - and a concentration on markets, investing and economics has given way to Politico style blogging.
The Bureau Chief is a former Washington Post lefty who has hired former Politico and Huffington Post activists to cover economics.
It’s not working.
They have reporters now who don’t understand finance.
You open the app in the morning and all you see is political commentary and partisan attacks.
It’s become a paid Politico style publication and everyone knows it.
It’s fallen - and needs to go back to its roots of economic reporting. There are too many left wing political commentary outlets already.
Every day, the once mighty Wall Street Journal @WSJ “news” coverage gets closer and closer to the left-wing drivel we get out of the New York Times.
The headlines, the selective coverage, the skewed, legal analysis, the praise oriented adjectives used to describe Democrats, the negative adverbs uniformly used to describe the actions of the Trump administration regardless of merit . . . .
The editorial pages led by the likes of @GerryBakerWSJ and @Peggynoonannyc are unfortunately along for the ride. Although not quite as bad as the “news” sections, they are little more than a collection of whiny RINO voices that still don’t understand that the meteor has hit and the old Republican Party has passed away.
Every day, the WSJ slouches closer and closer towards Gomorrah.
Americans should keep reposting this terrific analysis by Kim Strassel about the Left’s war on our justice system - aided, of course, by their partisan allies in traditional corporate media
From Kim Strassel's column in Friday's WSJ -- a more accurate description would be hard to come up with:
"The state of legal reporting has reached peak national embarrassment, a master class in fiction that rivals the reporting about Russia “collusion” and Joe Biden’s undiminished capacity. The media’s contribution to lawfare began in the earliest days of the first Trump term and has become only more brazen. The swings and misses are there for all to see, every day. Yet the formula is now so routine that nobody pushes back."
Seems to be available for all to read.

A spectacularly correct analysis of how the media routinely (and enthusiastically) misrepresents litigation against the Trump administration in order to present an inaccurate and skewed picture of legal events
The state of legal reporting has reached peak national embarrassment, a master class in fiction that rivals the reporting about Russia “collusion” and Joe Biden’s undiminished capacity, writes @KimStrassel on.wsj.com/4gxAkbL
Saw Nolan’s Odyssey this weekend.
At best, and only if the viewer knows nothing about the original story, Nolan’s adaptation is a B movie - - with an almost slapstick fight scene ending, anachronistic and awkward dialogue, and spectacularly dubious casting.
By contrast, if one is familiar with the original material, Nolan’s adaptation is a sloppy hodgepodge mess that completely misunderstands and largely betrays the original story and message.
Among its many sins, Nolan‘s version needlessly replaces core values that lay at the heart of Western culture and civilization . . . with simplistic notions of Hollywood morality and colonialism.
And for the record, Odysseus did not view himself as a colonizing warrior conqueror. Or suffer from PTSD because of the resulting (entirely fictitious) guilt.

New Yorkers, don't forget: I'm within six points of Kathy Hochul, and I'm not letting up.
She's given you the highest taxes in the nation, rising crime, and a state people are fleeing.
When I am Governor, I'll bring Nassau's results, lower taxes and real safety, to all of New York.
What a spectacular exercise in woke boobery.
-Homer was Greek.
-His audience was Greek.
-The people he was writing about were Greek rulers and warriors, living in Greek cities.
So yeah, Helen of Troy was Greek, not black.
And pretending that it was ambiguous because Homer did not explicitly say that is beyond foolish.
