"I don't know Abdul." The framing of these questions around Black Detroiters having negative interactions with Arab gas station owners always strike me as absurd, a blatantly narrativized meme. A similar sort of mythologizing is done around tensions between Black New Yorkers and Jewish landlords, but that at least involves something as crucial as housing and rent. Like you're seriously considering voting for arch-Republican mega qraquer Mike Rogers because some Lebanese guy gave you a weird look while selling you Faygo? Really? 🥴
