Figuring this out was both nice and heartbreaking, because I ended up cutting contact with multiple people who used ChatGPT arguments and screenshots against me whenever we had problems in our communication You can’t fight natural stupidity combined with artificial reassurance
- Drafted a blog post - Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours. - Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing! - Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite. - LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true. - lol The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.

Her an kırılacak gibi çatırdayan. Her an düşme korkusuyla dolu olduğumuz, titreyen bacaklarımızın kararlılıkla ilerlemesiyle geçebileceğimiz bir nehir.

Turkey may soon impose severe restrictions on Steam, potentially making it effectively inaccessible. Over the past two years from the endless visa struggles I've faced to this latest development one thought has weighed heavily on my mind: Some people are fortunate enough to feel the genuine support and security of their state when they take risks in pursuit of success. Others are unfortunate enough to have been born in the wrong part of the world.

I'm so jealous of Mariano Barbacid. I've read a brief history of his works and he is truly a legend. He went through a lot of struggles to reach this far and he did not just succeed, he did suffer to self actualize and today he's known with something that will save lives.
BREAKING🚨: This is Mariano Barbacid, the scientist who may have discovered the cure for pancreatic cancer.

Working on Unreal be like: Create transpilers, custom scripting languages from zero and dive into most cursed parts of the engine casually But also be like: *spends six hours figuring out how to make a montage play on upper body bones only*

Gameplay programming feels more difficult because you work on an API that someone else created at 2014 for a very specific FPS team deathmatch game while low-level engine programming is like fighting with demonic spirits that want your soul. Clearly second one is easier.

Ive been working on a system inspired by FromSoftware games in my almost non existing free time, and so far, it's one of the most fun gameplay systems I've designed. People tend to underestimate how brilliantly the AI in Dark Souls is designed, but tbh its extremely underrated.

Finished Resident Evil 4 Remake yesterday and playing Seperate Ways DLC right now. Its funny how Ada's experience is so chill compared to Leon's. At least so far 😂

Commitment with potential > raw talent with past experience A good leader always can create a better value out of people who are determined and reliable compared to a random team/corpo that only hires for talent to operate a project. One would tend to feel passionate about their job while other would be aware your company sucks to work at and rightfully only focus on how good your salary is. This is why "released at least one AAA game" requirement is bs. If you dont invest on your team on long term how can you hope to hire people who are really passionate about their job at your company anyway...
Clair Obscur Expedition 33's director revealed he made the game because he was "bored" at Ubisoft Most of the core dev team were juniors who had almost no experience making video games via BBC

Speaking by my observation around the industry, best outcome also often comes up from same "small group of people with passion on what they are working on" idea and definitely not from "hundreds of people available to code on any system as needed". Surprisingly, dedication to your work and enough liberty to take initiative affects your employer's gains from a project directly 🙃 Its not uncommon in our industry one bright individual comes up with an idea and then if enough time and resources given to them they create a very successful outcome for their employers. Biggest example is literally PlayStation.. And Dark Souls games... I dont know how they work but a more practical example maybe could be Angelscript fork of UE5 from Hazelight since its awesome and seem(?) to be maintained by very few amount of people. If you are incapable of extracting value and potential from people you are not gonna make it 😂
