📑 Beyond Budget Promises: How well did the government implement the FY 2025/2026 budget?
🆕 We have released a new analysis that examines how well the government implemented the FY 2025/26 budget against the original approved budget.
As the @KeTreasury plans to table the Budget Policy Statement (BPS) before Parliament this analysis provides the public (CSOs and private sector) with evidence as they prepare to make BPS submissions.
The BPS is a key government policy document that sets out the broad strategic priorities, macroeconomic forecasts, and fiscal framework to guide national and county budget preparation for the upcoming financial year and the medium term. This analysis therefore outlines our key policy recommendations.

💬 CEO @DWNdirangu speaks to @JumaNyangi on custodians of trust, public participation and role of government to strengthen public trust through building stronger public finance systems that deliver services.
Today, we have joined global stakeholders at The Trust Summit, Nairobi dialogue on Global Trust.
Our work at IPF centres around public money and people’s lives. Through our analysis, we examine how the government raises, allocates and spends public resources.
Citizens and businesses pay taxes with an expectation that governments will manage those resources responsibly, provide services to the citizens and create a conducive operating environment for businesses. Whether that expectation is fulfilled has direct economic consequences.
Kenya’s PFM system is anchored on trust principles including transparency, accountability, public participation, equity, efficiency and effectiveness.
Our hope is that by the end of this Summit, key stakeholders including governments would reflect and commit to these core principles, because they influence whether people can rely on institutions and whether public resources produce expected outcomes and positively impact citizens lives.

Level 2 and 3 health facilities in Laikipia County play a central role in strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) services and accelerating progress toward Universal Health Coverage. Financing and stronger governance are key pillars of the health system at these levels. The facilities receive PHC funds from the Social Health Authority (SHA) and an additional stream of funding from DANIDA.
Prudent management of these funds to advance quality health services is the responsibility of facility in-charges. Today, IPF continued its county-focused technical assistance, working closely with the Department of Health in Laikipia County to deliver Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) training to facility in-charges.
This knowledge and these skills will strengthen efficiency and translate into better health outcomes in the county.
