Dreeshen, always making highways safer.
After speaking with Minister @DevinDVote, the Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors has decided to close the median crossings at 306 Ave., 338 Ave. and 370 Ave. along Highway 2 to help reduce the risk of serious collisions and keep commuters and locals safe.
Access gates are being planned for nearby maintenance crossovers to accommodate emergency services, highway maintenance crews and local farmers who need to move equipment across the highway.
I appreciate the Minister’s action to address this issue, both in the short and long-term to ensure the safety of those in our community, and those travelling through it. I am also pleased that our government is moving forward with plans for an interchange, and construction work could begin next year, with detailed design continuing throughout this fall and winter.

“Every dollar of widening of the WCS WTI differential is worth $140 million for Phillips 66” 😩
The inverse of the effect of narrowing of the WCS WTI differential by a dollar on Alberta’s provincial revenue (it’s worth ~$680 million).
Maybe Alberta should buy Phillips 66 as a hedge 😒
Continued big negative near-term outlook for WCS less WTI diffs, which is a huge positive for Phillips66.
"Second, on the heavy crudes, they have been pressured mostly by freight. Initially, the Canadian crude was pressured by Petróleos refinery issues, but it is mostly a freight issue. Also you are seeing more Venezuelan crude on the market. You are starting to see diluent blending in the Canadian crude for the winter. So internally, what we talk about is heavy crude is essentially a race to the bottom for both Canadian and Venezuelan and even high sulfur fuel oil. As you know, weaker heavy differentials play into our kit.
Canadian crude is currently favored, and we import more Canadian crude into the U.S. than any other company. Most of our refineries run heavy crudes. In the central corridor and the Gulf Coast, we have strong pipe connectivity and access to Canadian crudes along with other crudes. Finally, just as a reminder, every dollar of widening of the WCS WTI differential is worth $140 million for Phillips 66." EVP.

We lost momentum on this alliance and it’s time to get it back.

It has been 703 days since Mr Trump announced his tariff plans for Canada. We’re still waiting for a new west coast pipeline to be permitted let alone built. Thats more than two Alaska Highways.
On this day in 1942, the Alaska Highway was completed. Through cooperation between Canada and the USA, the 2,700 km highway took only 8 months and 12 days to build.

No but every time I see a new holiday invented by Big Greeting Card, I look for a Great Pumpkin tie in.
Replying to @irbrodie
Have you ever in your life laughed at the premise that a kid got a pumpkin confused with Santa Claus?
The correct office set up for a busy academic.
Glad to be able to appear from my office at @UsaskLaw in the Canadian Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs committee this morning to talk about the Constitution and Bill S-241 on Indigenous gaming operations
This trend, under way for a few years, is appalling.
New in @washingtonpost: @TheFIREorg tracked 200+ deplatforming attempts in 2026—a record. For the second year, more came from the RIGHT of the targeted expression than the left.
But the constant? Administrators who were supposed to protect speech and instead policed it.

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has said what few politicians dare to say: people with divergent views about residential schools should not be prosecuted for it.
!!!
Secularists in favour of the emancipationist vision of education (where the household is assumed to be a place of oppression and the school is where you are emancipated) always neglects to account for the possibility that the dominant culture itself is capable of oppression, forced conformity, and squelching of free thought.
