The authorities must not allow paramilitaries or racist hate mobs to determine who can or cannot live in certain areas. There can be no ‘no-go’ areas in Northern Ireland.

Half a century ago today, the UVF murdered two Belfast Telegraph delivery men as a 10-year-old watched in terror. My colleague Liam Tunney tracked down one of the killers, whose pathetic response to questions was: “My memory is not what it used to be".

Amazing: journalist does journalism to discover something, and because everyone is so used to people living by press release, they literally can't believe the journalist found it out on their own.

There’s no doubt Encompass has utterly changed how care is delivered in hospitals in NI.
We were recently told that there was an unexpected cost of Encompass of an additional £20m this year.
There are unanswered questions about how much Encompass will cost in total and why.
🏥 The Health Minister visited the Ulster Hospital in @setrust to see how Encompass is helping to transform health and social care
💻 Minister Butler saw the children's ward, as well as the Control Room and Discharge Hub and how Encompass works across the different areas.

Significant policing operation in Creggan tonight.
Land Rovers parked along the back roads behind the Creevagh estate. They appear to be carrying out searches.
The PSNI has confirmed there was disorder in Creggan. Masonry is visible on roads close to Ballymagowan estate.
Police said they came under attack from youths, some wearing masks.
A statement said "some were also armed with weapons, while some had tins of paint and fireworks."
It added: "They subsequently proceeded to throw items, including stones and bottles, at officers, causing damage to two police vehicles.
“A number of people remain in the area at the current time and a public safety operation is currently in place to deal with the disorder.
“This is completely unacceptable behaviour - attacking officers while they’re performing duties to protect the public – and we know it is not welcomed by the wider community.
“We would appeal to those engaging in this behaviour to refrain from doing so as our policing operation continues. Our officers are also engaging with local community reps this evening and we would reiterate our appeal for calm.”
