I'm making a film on Gandhi . About a time in his life that few understand but I am not a hagiographer, nor am I making this film simply because my mother told me to. Gandhi was a man who could not leave himself alone. He listened to his critics: not as a courtesy, but as a man listens when he fears the critic may be right. He used what he heard to become someone he had not been. Think what you like of him. There has been almost no one like him.
What you will be watching is not a saint. That is the lie we tell so that we may sit still, and the sitting still is the crime. What you are watching is a man coming apart in public and refusing the mercy of doing it in private: furious, and not with the enemy. That would have been too simple, but with his own, the people he had carried and who had carried him, who had learned every word of his language and not one syllable of what the words were for. He had given them a vocabulary. They had made of it a career. Most chose comfort, or despair, which is only comfort dressed in black. He wrenched himself out of both. He never said his was the only road .

As you grow older, you learn to embrace many things, your mortality, your imperfections, the roads not taken, but most importantly, impermanence: the quiet understanding that nothing, not even the self we once knew, was ever meant to remain unchanged

Rest in peace, Sir Garry. There will never, ever be another like you.
It is with a incredibly heavy heart that I hear the news of the passing of the greatest of them all, Sir Garfield Sobers. For anyone who loves this beautiful game, Sir Garry wasn’t just a cricketer; he was the ultimate standard of what a cricketer could be.
When we talk about all-rounders today, we often look at players who can balance two disciplines. But Sir Garry? He was a master of five. He could bat like a dream, bowl fast-medium with the new ball, switch seamlessly to orthodox left-arm spin, bowl wrist spin, and field like a panther at short leg or in the slips. To watch him walk onto a cricket field, with that loose, rhythmic Caribbean stride, collars turned up, was to watch absolute majesty in motion. He played the game with a sublime joy and a fierce, competitive dignity that defined an entire era.
I remember the sheer awe he inspired whenever India played the West Indies. You couldn't take your eyes off him. Even when he was taking the game away from you, you couldn't help but marvel at the genius of the man. His 365 not out stood as a mountain for decades, and those six sixes in an over became the stuff of folklore. Yet, off the field, he was always an absolute gentleman—warm, incredibly generous with his knowledge, and fiercely proud of the game's finest traditions.
Cricket has lost its brightest jewel today. The stands are a little quieter, and the game is poorer without him. My deepest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and to every cricket lover across the Caribbean and the world who is mourning this incomparable loss.

Gary Sobers passes into the great beyond . My Father introduced me to his genius . He along with Albert Einstein , Vilayat Khan , Satyajit Ray and Begum Akhtar were the great men he adored . The Brazilians when they played Football and the Caribbeans when they played Cricket brought us such immense joy . They lit up our lives and we forgot some of the shit hitting our brains . Bye Mr Garfield Sobers and in my dreams I’ll imagine you walking into the field with Rohan Kanhai , Lance Gibbs , Wesley Hall , Charles Griffith and the rest of your team mates .

Infinite Saree was never just a campaign. It was created as a call for change, demanding the removal of the Marital Rape Exception and challenging the silence around violence women continue to face within homes and marriages.
Thank you to our amazing campaign ambassadors @itsRahulBhat, @ZaariaPatni, @NSNappinai, Adv. Audrey D’Mello (@MajlisLaw) and our partners @NiveditaSaboo, @klickhealth, #MediaMedic, and #INVNT for believing in this vision💜

I hear a lot of worry about AI from creative people, and I get it. But my take is a little different.
Some of India’s finest actors,Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Irrfan, Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi were celebrated for their craft, yet rarely got the kind of big-budget films mounted..
around them as central leads. That gap between talent and “market value” still exists.
If AI genuinely brings down production costs, it could change the box office game too,and maybe finally challenge the old myth that only established stars can carry ….

When I approached the character, I was less interested in the political label attached to Sanjay Gandhi and more in the human being, the psychology of a young man operating in extraordinary circumstances and wielding extraordinary power-@itsRahulBhat tinyurl.com/2vd5t78d

Just watched #Kennedy by @anuragkashyap72 an absolute masterpiece! Feels like watching literature come alive on screen. Every frame breathes depth and poetry. @itsRahulBhat delivers his best performances ever. A haunting, brilliant film that stays with you long after it ends.

Is it possible for an actor to bring alive the anguish and guilt of a wounded father and the manic detachment and cold precision of a killer cop so well simultaneously that only multiple reference performances can describe it?
Yes — @itsRahulBhat’s performance in #KENNEDY does exactly that! After watching the film, I had to wade through Denzel Washington’s grief- and anger-ridden intensity in Man on Fire, Michael Chiklis’s desperate moral unravelling in The Shield, and Robert De Niro’s drifting, haunted nonchalance in Taxi Driver to mentally sum it up.
And to think this isn’t the first time Rahul Bhat has delivered such a believable, grounded character on screen. Many years back, in #UGLY, he embodied a deeply flawed father whose own morally compromised actions spiral into a nightmare as he desperately tries to find his missing daughter.
It’s no coincidence that both these characters were not only conceptualized but also brought to life by none other than @anuragkashyap72, who may not always get the credit for it but has given more actors their first memorable or career-defining roles than any other mainstream Hindi film director during the last two decades.
