The usual criticism of a non-linear approach is "you don't work on technique," which is 🐎💩. There are other ways to work on technique other than decoupling everything & hand feeding balls to a player IMHO.

Dear 🎾 coaches, If you're married to your basket but divorced from the game, are you really preparing players to meet the demands of the GAME of tennis ? Less drills more games. They came to PLAY. NOT to wait in lines and hit a "shots" devoid of context. Design games not drills

My take on : Task simplification & manipulating constraints,in this case (equipment) in beginners tennis. Tennis has traditionally treated newcomers to the game as if they're incapable of PLAYING tennis until all the technical "fundamentals" are in place. I was guilty of this 🤦🏽♂️.

How common is this mistake, in sports coaching and in other settings? I suspect this is why people have an interest in motivational interviewing?

Explain to me why we should spent taxpayer money to bailout companies (airlines) who spent their cash buying their own stock so the CEO gets optionality, instead of having a crisis buffer.
We should bail out individuals based on needs, not corporations.

Coaches: You can have an open door policy all you want, but don’t assume your players have the courage to walk through the door. If they do, treat their confidence like gold. Don’t use it against them. Instead, listen & offer guidance. Be caring & empathetic. Build a relationship
