Had a lovely visit with the @CounterStrike and Deadlock teams over at @valvesoftware. We may or may not have visited the secret laser room. 🤫
Lock in.
You can now QUEUE MATCHMAKING whilst in freestyle. We have the technology. This also works for other mods on the hyperline.gg platform too.

Valve has apparently gone all-in on the Rat King joke in Deadlock.
The new hero has 1,534 recorded voice lines, and 126 of them are specifically tied to his Rat Swarm ability.
Instead of just say the same attack line repeatedly, Rat King actually calls out individual rats by name as he throws them at enemies.
Valve’s latest City Never Sleeps update doubled the voice-line count for existing heroes and added more than 10,000 non-ping voice lines overall.
It’s a ridiculous amount of detail for a character whose main gimmick is basically “I have rats. Here, have some rats.”

As many of you have noticed, among the upcoming batch of new heroes, you can spot a chess player named Solomon.
The animation of the pieces on his chessboard exactly replicates the famous game between Donald Byrne and Bobby Fischer.
This refers to the famous 1956 "Game of the Century": 13-year-old Fischer defeated Byrne by sacrificing his queen.

2027 Deadlock is going to be one of the biggest melting pots in esports.
For the positive reasons of the game doing well / being awesome, but also for the negative reasons that word is it seems two major titles will be seeing either elimination or highly reduced investment soon
