Bulgaria just took a clear lead among NATO-nations doing their best to accept beating by Russia.
🇧🇬 Bulgaria’s Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, says Bulgaria could not destroy the maritime drones that attacked the CONTSHIP JET, citing legal constraints because the attack took place in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone, outside its territorial waters, as well as severe weather conditions.
But this is exactly the grey zone I have been warning about for some time. I raised the same question in the context of Romania’s Neptun Deep gas project: does NATO’s Article 5 necessarily cover attacks on critical infrastructure located in an exclusive economic zone? The answer is not straightforward.
Now we are facing another example. If a threat is approaching our countries through an exclusive economic zone, are we effectively saying that we cannot act until it enters territorial waters?
What does that mean for offshore energy platforms, critical infrastructure and commercial shipping? Are we going to leave these questions unanswered while hostile actors exploit every legal and operational grey area?
Europe already suffers from uncertainty over NATO’s unity and the credibility of its collective defence.
Europe cannot keep hiding behind vague political statements and legal ambiguities while its adversaries exploit every weakness. If NATO cannot clearly explain how it would respond to threats against critical infrastructure in an exclusive economic zone, then its credibility is already being undermined.
A defence alliance that leaves fundamental questions about its own response unanswered invites adversaries to test its limits. NATO need clear commitments, clear rules of engagement and the political will to act when the security is threatened not endless uncertainty, hesitation and explanations after the damage has already been done.
Deterrence means making it clear beforehand what the consequences of an attack will be. If even that remains uncertain, what exactly are we deterring?

SpaceX Blocked A U.S. And NATO Satellite to Assist a Russian Intercept After Crippling Ukraine's Air Defenses
The Math Proves the Reality that Musk doesn't want you to see.
On Oct 13-14, SpaceX restricted Starshield/Starlink during a 39-missile Russian attack, cutting Ukrainian drone intercepts by 23% and stranding U.S. personnel in Kyiv. Forty-eight hours later (Oct 15), SpaceX blocked U.S.-licensed NRO, Space Force, and NATO radar satellite ICEYE-X36 in orbit so Russia's COSMOS 2612 weapon could intercept it (99.89%-99.98% posterior)
Our Model Demonstrates that the Russian intercept of the US/NATO ICEYE X-36 satellite (contemporaneous with the throttling of Starlink) would not have been possible, and almost certainly not been attempted, without SpaceX resources. At a material opportunity cost, Russia sprinted its COSMOS satellite to intercept ICEYE X36. Based on a previous attempt in June during which X36 maneuvered to evade COSMOS, Russia knew that this would be successful only if X36 could not maneuver. On October 15, SpaceX fixed X36 in place by issuing a collision alert for a sub-kilometer approach with its Starlink 35856 when SpaceX's own data shows that the actual distance was 4.8-5.0x as great. SpaceX issued no warning to COSMOS despite the fact that its sprint was far more threatening than the stable X36 orbit. SpaceX did not maneuver its Starlink 35856 satellite to clear the supposed collision risk. How, absent coordination with SpaceX, could Russia have known that SpaceX would take actions that (a) misrepresented the danger posed by X36, and (b) resulted in the fixing of X36 thereby enabling COSMOS's successful intercept? Thus, SpaceX was directly involved in simultaneously compromising Ukraine’s defensive and offensive capabilities. The conjunction of these two events makes innocent explanations untenable.
The Pentagon Capture & Iran Round Two Trap: Pentagon CTO Emil Michael who cashed out $7M–$35M from Musk’s inner-circle SpaceX vehicles (M8/Gigafund 0.1 and M6/Valor M33 II) and KQ Partners / xAI (selling xAIfor $5M–$25M three days before taking over CDAO/OSCand 21 days before SpaceX bought xAI, while keeping M8, M6, M9, M10 & Nomadic open) and Pete Hegseth purged rival Anthropic in two hours, surrendered combat command over US drones used to attack Iran to Starlink’s "Terms of Service," and on October 2 named Musk Co-Director of Project Meridian to design the Pentagon's "Future of Warfighting" just as America enters Iran Round Twowith depleted Patriot/THAAD magazines and Russia feeding U.S. warship/aircraft locations to Tehran.
SpaceX’s actions in Ukraine raise serious questions about its alignment with US security interests and its reliability as a cornerstone of US defense. These questions are particularly troubling given the effectively irreplaceable position SpaceX has been granted by the Hegseth/Emil Michael Pentagon.

Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones.
As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true.
In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians.
But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work.
In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield.
We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

This. Don’t get angry, get donating. A monobank jar fill is the best copium. Burn the bastards.
The best thing you can do right now is turn your outrage and anger into a voluntary donation to the Ukrainian military.
Today, the Ukrainian military is one of the last bastions of goodness, decency, courage, and the values of the free world, fighting with weapons in hand, with the help of people of goodwill and wisdom, against the forces of the Axis: fascist Russia and its totalitarian allies.
In this war against an enemy so vastly superior in resources and ruthlessness, nothing will ever be enough. That is why, for many years now, we in Ukraine have had large and extremely popular civilian foundations supporting our fighting military. They raise hundreds of millions of dollars in donations from ordinary people and help purchase enormous quantities of gear, equipment, vehicles, and services for the military: from first-aid kits to armored vehicles, drones, high-tech components, and even satellites.
Personally, I recommend three of the largest and best-known foundations, which you can trust with complete peace of mind and which accept donations through any legal means from anywhere in the world: Come Back Alive @BackAndAlive, the Prytula Foundation @serhiyprytula, and the Sternenko Community @sternenkofund.
They are one of the reasons Ukraine is still fighting, and this is a cause that you, personally, can help support.
