To consider an alternative view, you would have to consider an alternative version of yourself.
Am I the only one who can’t find where te generate new api keys in @opencode ‘s new dashboard?
Even without components, @Paper became quickly a critical tool for ideation.
My workflow has been simple: gathering inspiration in a page, craft a base colors set with the logo, Claude as builder and orchestrator, codex for image gen and prompt generator. The first step is to generate a mini design system. Then I start prompting and building section by section. Always generating at least 3 variations with reference to inspiration page. Refine and and iterate over the results according to the direction and once I get the right one, the other variations goes to a “dumpster” page.
Just gave doop.design by @kgoedecke a quick test drive, and I got some feedback:
- limited type and text settings especially for fonts choice, direction and ot features.
- no clear ui element to toggle props panel to always on
- code tab for a selected element shows too much boilerplate for a yet to be styled element.
The intention is good and there is room for improvements.
One other thing; having to login and being on free plan suggests that there might be a paid plan in the future?

👀 @jamesm is one of my favorite visual designers on the planet
but now he's transitioned into a full-blown builder with Claude
so this week's episode is a behind-the-scenes of how he builds stunning websites👇

Specimen work for Kufi Sans.
Taking geometric Kufic structure and making it work for text, UI, and signage.
Still refining the weight range and letter construction.

It’s either you build it yourself or wait for an eternity for someone else to build it.
This exceptional typeface family misses one thing; an arabic counterpart.

Nothing less expected from Paper crew 🔥
I like how things are moving with the p.o.c. atm. I'm able to reconstruct most of the OT code visually, still some work to do though.
I’m vibe-coding a tool I kept dreaming of making since I tried Microsoft VOLT, all thanks to @zeddotdev ‘s gpui.
I heard about GPUI long ago but didn’t have the courage to test (as I barely know Rust). But after seeing @syntaxfm episode about it and what @stolinski said about ai being good with it with proper guardrails, I gave it a try and the app is taking shape slowly.
The app’s idea is to be able to visually design OpenType features that translate to Adobe afdk syntax instead of writing code. The first poc version is able to read glyphs and glyphspackage and parse OT features, list them and show substitution features only (as in the screenshot). Next step would be to manage substitutions (add, delete, edit, etc..) and maybe to displat positioning features correctly.
Shift looks promising and just good to use. Give it a try.
In the next version of Shift, recent files! this was a request by @iyadhtype, great to have good user feedback
