A mom called me last night, and I could hear the hurt in her voice.
Her 2027 son has done EVERYTHING. Years of travel ball. More showcases than she can count. Email after email to coaches. Nothing.
No offers.
She's sure he's a D1 player and can't understand why no one sees it.
I told her what I'd want someone to tell me: at 5'8", 155 lbs, he's not what D1 coaches are recruiting, and he may need to open his eyes to D3, NAIA and JUCO.
She disagreed and told me I know nothing.
I understand. No parent wants to hear it.
But "D1 or nothing" too often ends with nothing.
