I just released ReShiki v0.6.1, a free, open-source alternative to ChemDraw.
Chemical drawing, reinvented.
Built in Rust for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Draw molecules, build reaction schemes, and export figures.

I think I should write something about what the day-to-day work of a mathematician actually looks like. We're not out here doing problem sets!

Music? It goes into the transformers hole.
Claude Opus 5.5 writes a fugue in the style of Bach. I called Astra’s fugue the most impressive musical feat I’d ever seen from an LLM, and this is just as good. The circle-of-fifths sequence beginning at 1:13 is beautiful. The interplay of voices is natural and satisfying. LLMs are getting to the point where their music is good enough to listen to for pure enjoyment.

Hello, Little People Living Inside My Computer,
I have made a YouTube account to discuss malware reverse engineering and development. It will primarily target noobs. It will be lighthearted, poorly produced, and spontaneous.

The discovery of a 2D Einstein tile in 2023, the "hat tile," made newspaper headlines everywhere. Will people care that AI has now found a 3D one?
Breaking math news: The first-ever 3D Einstein tile, an object that tiles space in a never-repeating pattern, has been found by independent researcher Ioannis Tsiokos using GPT Astra. Resembles a chair. Mathematicians have de-slopped the proof. @kkakaes: quantamagazine.org/updates/t…

I was at IAS today, not for anything special, but EVERYONE was talking about AI. The lunchroom was buzzing with it, and it was a random wednesday. The guy I visited asked me things about my stack.
I saw Lurie too, had to contain my inner fanboy (didn’t visit him)

Lean Pool is the largest curated repository of formalized mathematics.
The human-written part of the paper consists of a single page, because I believe it's enough to convey the main idea.

"The Great Story of Numbers" is a new, free book that provides a comprehensive introduction to elementary number theory.
The book starts from the nature of numbers and mathematical induction, then develops counting, integers, number representations, divisibility, linear Diophantine equations, congruences and modular arithmetic, the Chinese Remainder Theorem, rational numbers and continued fractions, Pythagorean triples, and infinite descent.
It then moves into prime numbers and the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic, multiplicative functions, Fermat's Little Theorem, Euler's and Wilson's theorems, Fermat's Two-Squares Theorem, Gaussian integers, polynomials, primitive roots, discrete logarithms, polynomial congruences, cyclotomic polynomials, quadratic residues, Legendre symbols, quadratic reciprocity, and much more.
It's a useful resource if you want to study number theory from its foundations and gradually move toward more advanced topics. The current edition is almost 500 pages long.
