This. Same for Tokyo, São Paulo, and now Bangkok.
You could move to New York City. Walk out your door at 2am for a bacon egg and cheese and not think twice about it. Get on a subway that takes you from a mosque to a synagogue to a cathedral to a noodle shop that's been slinging the same bowl since 1987, all in twelve blocks. Watch strangers from four different continents argue about a parking spot in a language that is somehow entirely made of hand gestures. Sit in a park designed 170 years ago by geniuses who wanted you, specifically, to have somewhere green to sit. Catch a Tuesday night set from a musician who's about to be enormous, in a room that fits eighty people. Walk past a building where somebody invented something, or wrote something, or changed something, roughly every four minutes, whether you notice or not. Realize your commute is also a people-watching seminar, a smell-based cultural exchange program, and free comedy. Order the good pizza at 1am standing up, off a paper plate, next to a guy in a tux and a guy who clearly just got off a double shift, both getting the same slice with the same reverence. Pay too much for too little space and get, in exchange, eleven million other people's worth of energy pointed directly at your life every single day. Move to Iowa. Get the four bedrooms, the garage, the yard. Never again have a 3am conversation with a stranger that changes how you think about something. Never walk into a museum on a random Wednesday because it's just there. Never get that specific electric feeling of being one tiny gear in the greatest machine humans have ever built. But hey. At least parking's easy.

Tucker Max has become a very wise man. He drops bangers like this all the time. Go follow Tucker Max.

No man, you are missing the strategy. This is intentional, though very subconscious for most: What these women must do, at all costs, is blame someone else for the problems that they have created in their lives. By definition that requires contradictions on their part.

I don’t think it’s rational to spend too much time trying to acquire wealth. Not because I think Elon Musk is right or sincere here, but because the outcomes of AI escalation can’t be predicted accurately. If we have 10, 5, or 2 years before a catastrophe, would you rather spend that time in an office or rawdogging it up with the love of your life on a tropical island?
Elon Musk just gave the clearest AI timeline we’ve heard so far. In under 10 minutes he lays out: 1) AI surpasses all human intelligence in ~5 years 2) Humans most likely lose control within 10 years 3) Most probable outcome: an age of amazing abundance 4) “Even if there was a stop button — we probably shouldn’t press it” This is denser and more direct than most hour-long podcasts on the topic. If you still think AI is “just another tool”, this 10-minute segment will recalibrate you.

Give a STEM guy an LLM and he will treat it like Gospel, even when Reality is smacking him in the head.

AI answers are pulled from what's most visible online, and this is why you should never ask them for advice the more personal the question, the worse ChatGPT's advice will be, since it pulls from advice that was shared on online forums, and all the advice on there about dating, health, or personal life decisions is dogshit if you talk with LLMs about your life, you're effectively taking advice from a bunch of Quora / reddit anons who never accomplished anything, but whose advice is easy to find simply because they have nothing else to do but post all day on the internet
i spent some time reverse engineering how cal went from unknown to the #1 chatgpt recommended scheduling tool: >they have 47 comparison blog posts ("cal vs calendly", "cal vs savvycal", etc.) and even more general posts >every single one is structured as a direct answer to the exact question ppl ask AI chatbots >they show up in 23 niche directories that most competitors ignored >their github repo has 45,000+ stars >they have 200+ reddit mentions with upvotes in relevant subreddits chatgpt recommends them because the internet already talks about them in all the places AI models pull from. this isnt luck. this is engineered visibility. this is possible for u to do

I smell a great business model
In Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, reports of cow urine adulteration are emerging. Middlemen buy pure cow urine from farmers, mix it with urine from animals like buffaloes etc., and sell it. To remedy this, the Modi government should pass a law requiring Sangh workers, who have drunk urine since childhood, to taste every consignment, certify it as pure cow urine, and only then make it available to sanatanis for drinking.

This is 50% of the equation, but the other 50% cannot be controlled for: how character gets shaped by adverse events, and how pressure turns everything fluid. The big five are great in their consistency but life isn’t, especially for our current generation of young people. They face homelessness and the potential for going rekt at every turn. In most western countries, society is actively falling apart, with older generations in complete denial. The competition to level up is so agressivo and the prospects so grim that men see crypto betting as a “real” career path, and women resort to selling their bodies on OF and SA. This is a new phenomenon over the last sixty years, mostly out of financial desperation. The current circumstances force adaptation towards the depraved, sociopathic, or at least amoral side of things. Those who come with those qualities naturally are more likely to succeed while those who don’t either adapt or lose. If they lose, they are priced out of the dating market altogether. (At least in the US and larger Western population centers.) Those who succeed despite the circumstances are often not great prospects if you look at their big five. So yes, it’s more complicated than personality measures alone.
I think we make spouse selection way more complicated than it needs to be sometimes. Strip it all the way down. Is this person flexible when life doesn’t go according to plan? Are they relatively emotionally stable, or does every inconvenience become a crisis? Are they conscientious? Do they do what they say they’re going to do? Can they manage themselves and their responsibilities without being parented? Are they agreeable enough to cooperate, compromise and consider someone besides themselves? Because you’re not just choosing someone you’re attracted to or enjoy spending time with. You’re choosing the personality you’re going to solve problems with for the next 40 years. And the research on this is actually pretty consistent: lower neuroticism and higher conscientiousness and agreeableness are associated with greater relationship satisfaction. Sometimes the fundamentals really are the basics. Malouff et al. (2010), Journal of Research in Personality, 44(1), 124–127.

wild how good AI video is becoming
Damn I love that AI video is good enough for people to make random episodes of The Office about their niche interests (this is from u/Whiteowl116 about Rocket League)

I’m sure there will be 0 third-order consequences to this program :)
this is the most based AI use case i've ever seen: Singapore is using AI to extinct its mosquito population. the goal is to eliminate the intense dengue outbreaks it faces every year. and ironically, they're doing it by breeding and releasing 10 million+ extra mosquitoes every week lol 1. Google’s Debug mosquito factory breeds millions of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes carrying a bacterium called Wolbachia. it makes a male’s sperm incompatible with a wild female’s eggs, so when they mate, she lays eggs that never hatch. 2. breeding produces both males and females. AI cameras inspect them at high speed and separate the sexes because the facility only wants to release males. males don’t bite, while females are the ones that bite and spread dengue. 3. even high-speed sorting can miss a few females. so the sorted batch gets low-dose X-rays, which sterilize any female that slipped through while leaving the males able to mate. 4. vans drive through neighborhoods across Singapore, releasing millions of these males as they go. 5. the released males compete with wild males for mates. whenever one mates with a wild female, her eggs never hatch, removing an entire batch of mosquitoes from the next generation. so they’re basically mass-sterilizing the population. fewer eggs hatch, fewer mosquitoes are born, and the population shrinks with every generation. and it’s already working. > a major trial found that dengue risk was 71–72% lower in neighborhoods using the program > in the most successful areas, the targeted mosquito population has fallen by 98% > Singapore is now expanding the program to reach roughly half the country Lee Kuan Yew would be proud.

Bulgarians have the best sense of humor of all Eastern Europeans, so something good came from this era after all!
Asking basically every Bulgarian about the whole communist collapse period here. Was a really wild time. It kinda went from being a kind of super regimented entho nationalist communism, down to having state mandated hairstyles and total prohibition on western products. To full balls to the wall gangster anarcho capitalism overnight. From nothing has a price, to everything does. Like a light switch being flicked. Mafia, hyperinflation, state institutional collapse. Fascinating stuff.

I just got a bunch of STDs and $100K in debt. What did I do wrong?
ok since apparently this needs explaining: get the girl before the money. your 20s are when everyone’s still dating for love and nobody has anything. once you’re rich you’ll never really know. then get the money. as much as possible, as fast as possible. then use the money to buy back your health before it’s too late. trainer, diet, doctors, ozempic, whatever. love gets harder with money. health gets easier with money. few understand (apparently)
