An excellent question that I have a lot of thoughts about. But to start, would state that Davis winning (or losing by single digits) means at least two things:
(1) an end to the assumption that only white Dems can form winning electoral coalitions in states like Louisiana

And if it Davis does win (I have my own predictions for this), what is the impact on Louisiana politics
… and if this election comes down to this specific mix of circumstances—Black voters showing up in response to having their rights and representation stripped away, white conservatives crossing over to reject corruption / status quo—then you got to be able to wrangle both…
BREAKING: I say that Silicon Valley psychos putting trillions of dollars into AI slop and personal doomsday bunkers is an inefficient use of the world’s money, and argue it would be better if we reallocated those dollars to giving everyone healthcare and better paying jobs
Life comes at you fast
Disclaimer: Poll paid for by Jamie Davis. It shows him tied with Julia Letlow in Louisiana Senate race at 45. Letlow has big advantage in name recognition. Most political pros still think she will win. I have asked Letlow campaign to provide me with their latest numbers. I’ll tweet if they do #lalege #lagov nola.com/news/politics/trump…
I propose we instead spring forward by 1 year and 2 months (when you’ll be packing up to move out of the Governor’s Mansion)
I think we can all agree how stupid Daylight Saving Time is!
So, instead of falling back an hour this weekend, I say we spring forward four hours.
That way LSU v. Bama will kickoff when it’s supposed to, and the Tide can experience a true Saturday Night in Death Valley!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Thats... thats not how it works. 4 hours forward would mean LSU’s 2:30pm kick off would feel like today’s 10:30am

Whether candidates like it or not, utility bills are on the ballot this election season.
Here’s something they should all understand: Utility CEOs shouldn't be raking in record profits while the rest of us are figuring out how to keep the lights on.

I think this is right, and even if it doesn’t end up being enough to put Davis over the top, think it provides good reason to believe political change in Louisiana (breaking supermajority, dislodging some toxic statewide incumbents) is achievable sooner (2027) rather than later
Tele-rally makes sense given how everyone not on Jamie Davis’ campaign has been phoning it in for this election
Trump announces he’s doing a tele-rally for #LASEN nominee Julia Letlow on the eve of the election. Mike Johnson will join

turnout differences - I would not be surprised to see the racial composition of today's EV being over 40% black (voter registration is 31% black in the "Gret Stet")

2026: 32-32-33-33-42-36-??
