Who goes out fastest? Who copes well with going 1 down? Who takes a foot off the gas when 1 up? It's all here - and more! - in this week's Jagalytics post. Read it here: jagalytics.substack.com/p/a-…
Based on the Jagalytics Power Ratings, and recent results, Thistle have about a 2 in 3 chance of winning tomorrow's game with Morton. The most likely result is 1-0, with 2-0 and 2-1 both over a 10% probability. Even 3-0 and 3-1 have over 6%.
BOING - my Monte Carlo simulation of the remaining games - takes into account which teams are performing above expectations, underlying numbers, and home and away strength, and simulates the remainder of the league 100k times. Right now, Thistle hit 66+ points in half of sims
Using the Power Ratings, plus recent form, BOING simulates the remaining league fixtures 100k times, taking into account opponent strength, game location, and so on. Last week, Thistle eeked a lead for the first time.
Thistle are the only side with 60+ points in at least half of the sims, and take the title in 59% of them. Dunfermline are up to the second most common winners at 14% of sims, with Caley taking 10%. With Rovers and Stenny still win at least 5%.
The latest Jagalytics Power Ratings are in! After the weekend's dampness, and including estimates of the data for the midweek Dunfermline game, here's where the league stands. Thistle stay top on 743, with Caley nudging a bit closer after an impressive result away in Kirkcaldy.

Truly glorious Slow Match Report by Daniel Gray of @NutmegMagazine - every line was exquisite, full of wonderful little turns of phrase. Could smell the foost of the polyester scarves as fans trudged past the Bing.
Do yourself a favour, grab a coffee, and go read it.
Then read it again.

I've always been fascinated by the 'cathedral' style of shot visualisation that is common in the NBA. I'm playing around with a similar thing for the Champ. Here's every shot I have that Thistle keepers have faced in the league this year - not true shot paths, obviously.
Outstanding editorial work by @VillanoXIV to turn this around, including some neat stitching near the start. Always enjoy being on and grateful the team indulge my disorganised ramblings.

Smyth, however, hasn’t really changed the way the other two have. He continues near the centre circle. He’d marginally more left biased to cover where Dempsey and Stanway move right, but otherwise, just more effective as the other two adjust positionally
