#Mexicali | ⚠️ Así fue neutralizado el sospechoso de haber atacado con una escopeta a agentes de la FESC, entre ellos el subdirector operativo, Juan Carlos Jiménez Morgan, quien resultó herido en el cuello.
El sospechoso, quien al parecer estaba bajo el influjo de sustancias, se había atrincherado en un domicilio, donde se enfrentó a los agentes.

Baja California || Hieren a otro agente de la FESC, ahora en Mexicali. Los policías realizaban operativo por presuntos criminales atrincherados en una casa cuando sucedió el enfrentamiento que dejó herido a uno de ellos.
Esta semana, han lesionado a tres agentes de la FESC con arma de fuego, asesinado a una y atropellado a otra. Así la seguridad en el Estado.

The provincial election this past weekend has brought many changes. You may have heard that our Executive Director Amanda Burrows was elected as the new MLA for Vancouver – Strathcona. We're thrilled for her success and are incredibly proud of her courage and vision to step forward to support this community and represent it in the legislature.
Amanda will be leaving her role as Executive Director effective November 17th and the Board of Directors have begun discussing the process for an executive search. Acting Co-Executive Katie Bricknell Koncan and Rob Vandermey will continue to lead the organization until November 30, as originally planned.
Amanda has proven to be a focused and compassionate leader and steadfast advocate for the Downtown Eastside community during her time at FIRST UNITED, and we have no doubt that she will continue that in the legislature. We wish her well and look forward to seeing her around the neighbourhood. Please join us in congratulating Amanda on her success and giving thanks for all that she has given to FIRST and the DTES!

Knowing her, I'm pleased that she let me off easy, because Dolores does not play."

I grew up in a world Dolores Huerta helped make. Every time a worker in this city organizes for a fair wage, every time a tenant, delivery worker, or a nanny stands up and demands better, they join a tradition she forged.
She led without asking permission. She organized farmworkers when the country looked away, took the grape boycott to every corner of America, and won protections that changed millions of lives. Her work started in California’s fields, but it was never only for California. Families in New York, in Texas, and in the Midwest followed in her footsteps and learned from her example, without ever meeting her.
Her bravery and fight for justice continued until the very end of her life, when she came forward to share the truth about what she had survived -- even though silence would have been easier.
She taught us that sí se puede and lived it every day.
New York mourns Dolores Huerta. Let us honor her by continuing the work.
