According to Politico this morning, with winter approaching, energy ministers “gather . . . to discuss how best to respond to surging energy costs.” Unfortunately, “neither governments nor the European Commission have many — if any — good ideas left.” So, respectfully, here’s a good one — confirm Parliament’s proposal to delay the EUMR for 3 years. The energy industry has been pleading that a 3-year extension is required to keep supplies up and prices down. Believe them. This won’t solve every problem, but it certainly would avoid a big one. Commission “action plans” can’t change reality and a 1-year delay just means the EU will be facing the same problem next year, and the year after. If the EU wants to prevent an even larger surge in energy prices, the right choice is clear. There are times when reason should prevail for the public good. This is one of those times.

Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to resume trilateral peace talks with Ukraine and the United States. 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 🇺🇸
This s something no previous administration achieved in nearly five years of this war: Russia agreeing to sit at the same table as Ukraine and the United States. Critics who said Trump was too close to Putin to pressure him, or too confrontational with Zelensky to keep Ukraine engaged, now have to explain how both sides ended up agreeing to sit at the same table at the same time.
That is what nearly five years of European diplomacy, sanctions packages, and UN resolutions did not produce.

In Oslo and St. Petersburg, @JaredKushner and I met with Russian, Ukrainian, and European leaders to advance President Trump’s mission to end the war.
In St. Petersburg, we met with President Putin to build on the progress made in Oslo with President Zelenskyy, discuss a peace framework, and thank President Putin for releasing American citizen Stephen Hubbard to return home to his family.
These discussions were constructive, and will continue with trilateral talks between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine at the technical level.
While there is still important work left to do, President Trump remains committed to seeing this war end and achieving a comprehensive, durable peace that will provide security and prosperity for generations to come.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he would accept ending the war along the current front lines. 🇺🇦 🇺🇸
Ukrainian President told Fox News that freezing the conflict where it stands is “the real way to end this war.” When host asked him directly whether Zelensky would accept a deal that “freezes everything the way it is right now,” with Ukraine keeping “75 percent or more” of its territory, Zelensky answered “Yes.” He described the approach as “freeze and stop,” language that echoes President Trump’s own framing of the ceasefire as “stop killing.”
For years, Zelensky’s position was that every inch of Ukrainian territory — including Crimea. That position has now been replaced, on camera, with acceptance that the war ends where the armies stand. The timing was not accidental.
