🇺🇸 A Tesla Model Y driver recently survived a devastating head-on collision with a vehicle travelling around 84 MPH while attempting an illegal pass.
Despite the severity of the impact, the woman in the car escaped the wreckage with nothing worse than a few fractures and tears, crediting the Model Y’s safety engineering with helping save her life.
Her replacement car? Another Model Y.

Only someone who doesn’t understand Elon’s first principles thinking would suggest he buys Uber for $300 billion, or he even buys it at all. Jason may be right on many things but this isn’t one of them.
Even if this acquisition made sense from some regulatory perspective or to accelerate robotaxi rollout, he still wouldn’t buy it. It’s way too additive, messy, and wasteful of hard earned capital.
That said, I enjoy his podcast.

There will be significant M&A activity in the autonomy space.
Don't be surprised if Tesla, Amazon, or Google buys Uber for $300 billion in order to win the deployment of AVs.
Also don't be surprised if Waymo buys a car company.
Finally don't be surprised if DoorDash, Uber, and/or Lyft merge and then buy a car company (@LucidMotors @Rivian @VW) and an AV company (@Arvada @euro) in order to compete against tesla and waymo
Just lost a friend in a vehicle accident the other day. He was only 20.
We lose a Hawaii population of people every year in vehicle accidents. Just over a million people.
Vehicle accidents have killed as many people as military + direct civilian deaths from all 20th century wars combined. 65-80 million people.
Every year of delay of robotaxis is roughly one million preventable deaths — comparable to a moderate war, every year, indefinitely.

Congrats to the SpaceX team. Clean 33-engine ascent, boostback restored, the in-space relight achieved, and the first real Starlink V3 deployment with working laser links. Just have to nail the lighting of all 13 engines for the landing burn next time.

A common misconception is that the truth is bitter and lies are sweet. But in reality, harsh truths are brief, and sweet lies are borrowed.
I created a graph I call “The Curves of Self Clarity” to describe this idea.
My best guesses:
Quiet Desperation: ~65% of the population.
Unraveling: ~25%
Partial Clarity: ~10%
Full Clarity/Enlightenment is basically non-existent, but there are many levels of clarity between partial and full.
DevOps minded platform engineers are some of the most well-positioned people for agentic software development. They’ve spent years obsessing over feedback loops to make software engineers more productive.
Now in 2026 we’ve swapped coding out for AI and the feedback loop matters 1000x more, otherwise you get AI slop. Agents lack human self-correction, so every weakness compounds if allowed to run.
Agentic software development is by far the most addictive thing I’ve ever been involved with. And it’s getting more addictive each week.
It’s crazy how quickly we’ve transitioned from writing software to writing constraints on software that writes itself.
In the last 4 months, we’ve gone from the equivalent of manually splicing DNA (traditional software development), to raising a child in one day (agentic development).
We used to manipulate bits with low leverage and a lot of fucks given in the smallest of details. Now we’re all just vibe coding in English at the top of the fucks given pyramid of software development.
The fucks just move up the stack and get redistributed to things that agent capable LLM’s can’t do yet. We’re embellishing the capstone at this point.
This is wild. I think susceptibility to persuasion is going to be an increasingly important metric for AI models, especially as they begin acting as autonomous agents.
Any model that is susceptible to persuasion is vulnerable to prompt injection (when your AI gets hijacked by an attacker) and sycophancy (telling the user what they want to hear).
