MUSEVENI MEET HIS FATHER AFTER POWER CAPTURE: In late January 1986, just days after capturing power in Kampala, Yoweri Museveni returned to his ancestral village of Rwakitura in Kiruhura District to meet his father, Mzee Amos Kaguta. Museveni had just led the National Resistance Army (NRA) to victory, overthrowing President Tito Okello Lutwa on January 26, 1986, after five years of guerrilla war in the Luweero Triangle. He was now President of Uganda. In this rare photo, Museveni, still in his bush war combat uniform and gumboots, is seen kneeling slightly to greet his father, Mzee Kaguta, who was then in his 70s, a humble cattle keeper who had never left Rwakitura. Kaguta had raised Museveni as a herdsboy, teaching him to look after Ankole long-horned cattle. The meeting was emotional. Kaguta had heard on Radio Uganda that his son had taken power, but he had not believed it until he saw him. He blessed his son and reportedly told him, "Now that you have taken power, do not become like those who were before you." From bush fighter in Luweero to President meeting his father in Rwakitura.
Yoweri Museveni and his young family did not live in State House back then, but as fugitives in the slums of Nairobi. Janet and Yoweri Museveni married in August 1973, and their first child, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, was born on April 24, 1974. Their marriage and the birth of their first three children took place during a period of great instability: Muhoozi in 1974, Natasha in 1976, and Patience in 1978. Diana was born in Kampala in 1980. From 1971 to 1979, Museveni lived in Tanzania, working as a teacher in a government school. He financed Fronasa activities from his modest salary, provided for his family, and passed on what Mwalimu Nyerere gave to the family. Janet opened up about her struggles as a young mother in the early 1970s, saying, "When I was expecting Muhoozi as a young mother, I started making orange marmalade on my kitchen table." Before power, before military honours, Museveni lived as a fugitive in Nairobi, constantly evading danger. He settled Janet and his four children in Shauri Moyo estate in Nairobi's Eastlands. Their two eldest children, Muhoozi and Natasha, were sent ahead to Nairobi with a trusted associate. From orange marmalade on a kitchen table to the President's family, from Shauri Moyo slum to State House Entebbe.

DJ Shimza faces CCMA battle as more than 20 former restaurant workers demand unpaid tips DJ and music producer Shimza, real name Ashley Raphala, is facing a labour dispute after more than 20 former employees of his Thembisa restaurant, The Hang Awt 1632, accused the establishment of withholding their tips for several years. The former employees, who include waiters, kitchen staff, bartenders and managers, are planning to take the matter to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in November in an attempt to recover money they claim is owed to them. The workers received a message from management on September 10 informing them that the restaurant was closing with immediate effect. They were subsequently called into a meeting and allegedly told that the business was struggling financially, had outstanding payments to suppliers and could no longer afford to continue operating. However, according to a report by Daily Sun, the employees claim the restaurant had also failed to pay them tips earned through card transactions, with some alleging that the money had been withheld for more than five years. They explained that most customers paid for their meals using bank cards, meaning tips were processed electronically and deposited into the restaurant's account. While they received tips paid in cash, they allege that card tips were never distributed to them. The former workers maintain that the tips belong to employees and should not be retained by the business. The dispute reportedly escalated on October 1, when management allegedly offered each former employee R2,000 in exchange for signing agreements that would bring their claims against the establishment to an end. Some workers reportedly accepted the offer and signed the agreements, while others rejected it, opting instead to pursue the matter through the CCMA. Shimza has dismissed the allegations, accusing some of the former employees of lying and insisting that the restaurant's closure due to renovations and restructuring, describing the shutdown as something the business does every five years to remain competitive. He further maintained that permanent employees were still receiving their monthly salaries during the closure. buzzlifenews.com

Viewer discretion advised. This is a 3 minute real time replay of the Florida Learjet 60 crash, with the uncut ATC audio. It pulls together public ADS-B, weather radar, satellite, dashcam and drone video onto one timeline. Here's what we know as of Nov 2 based on OSINT and today's NTSB briefing: - Went from ~35,000 ft to impact in ~78 seconds - Flew into a string of thunderstorms - Crew reported ice and turbulence; asked to climb then issued a mayday - All nine aboard are deceased, with one person injured on the ground - Plane debris spread across half a mile and still being recovered - NTSB says there is some evidence the jet broke up before impact - Weather at altitude is a key focus of the investigation; but the official cause is still TBD I make a lot of 4D reconstructions and this is the most visceral and gut wrenching thing I’ve heard in a long time. My heart goes out to the families of those on board. Important to note that the details so far point to severe weather at altitude rather than a missile or air defense system.

The story of Kenny Motsamai is the most painful one. He was arrested during the apartheid era and remained in prison for more than 27 years. Everyone had forgotten about him until Julius Malema and the EFF decided to rescue him from hell. After being granted parole, the EFF gave him a job in Parliament because it would have been difficult for him to secure employment, considering his past and low level of education. How did Kenny Motsamai thank Julius Malema? He thanked the EFF with nothing but insults and betrayal. None of his children advised him against turning against Malema. He left the EFF for the PA and then left the PA for the MKP. He is now working for Pakistanis selling gas stoves and may soon become a hobo.
