Today is International Day of People with Disabilities. The theme for this year just so happens to be “Not all Disabilities are Visible.” 10 years ago, almost to the day, I had life changing surgery that left me with a stoma. I’ve written a bit about it. link.medium.com/yi5A7V6bVbb

I'm walking around the Isle of Man! Raising money for CALM. I have personal experience of feeling suicidal. It's never the answer but I fully understand its appeal. Let's help people get the support they need: justgiving.com/page/jay-milo…

I had a six day stay in hospital back in June. This video is about how it helped me surrender to the health problems I’ve been having recently and how much I fucking love hospital food! youtube.com/watch?v=B9dMzZ-4…
Part 3 and some more ramblings! This one was quite difficult to know exactly what to say. I talk about some tricky things that happened to me when I was younger and the work I've been doing to process and let it go. youtu.be/vgLyctNYpD4
Took a little longer than I wanted to post this one because the side effects from the meds have been kicking my ass a bit lately. But here's Part 2 - I ramble on about what I think triggered my Crohn's flare up :) youtu.be/6vixwRrxVQ0
Unfortunately I'm off work atm. My Crohn's came back pretty aggressively and has laid me low. I share a bit about it here.
I've been going through a Crohn's flare-up the last few months. Things got pretty hectic for a while - and while they've not completely settled down yet - I wanted to explain a bit about what I've learned from this flare-up. gutsandsoul.blog/2022/04/22/…

So excited to announce the launch of our #MMC framework bringing together housing associations, local authorities & 3 brilliant manufacturers to build the highest quality, sustainable homes that residents will love. What a journey it's been @TopHatIO @ilkehomes @ImpactCapGroup
The challenges associated with building sustainably aren't new for our sector, but we have a unique opportunity with #MMC to tackle them head on. Hear our Chair's thoughts on the matter @Timwillcocks linkedin.com/feed/update/urn…
Lovely 10 days or so on the Costa del Anglesey followed by the Isle of Wight. Isle definitely be Wight back there!

Trina Chakravarti's article in Inside Housing captures so well the benefits of collaboration to successfully deliver MMC homes. This is central to the work that #buildingbetter is doing to create a framework for the sector, that is led by the sector. insidehousing.co.uk/comment/…
Just been through competitive dialogue for our 1st framework, confirmed a new member & delighted to announce a collaboration with @CambridgeCDBB @CCHPR1 on the possibility of human centred design in #MMC. Newsletter with deets out in fortnight, let us know if you want in!

@jaymmistry this is so important - really valuable work. I’m proud of @RHP_UK as a housing partner for doing this and I want residents to know that it’s happening. We’ll support you all the way! #Listening 👂#ListeningLeadsToAction #BuildingCommunities
I've been @RHP_UK for about 8 and a half years. This week has probably been my most meaningful. We're doing a piece of work listening to customers and working with customer facing employees. We're finding out some things that are hard to hear. That maybe our service (cont'd)

isn't exactly like we thought it was. That sometimes - even though everyone is trying their best - we aren't delivering for and meeting the needs of customers. That customer facing employees may struggle delivering some messages. And it can affect them. That we also do (cont'd)

loads of good stuff, but it's often mixed in with the not so good. It's not black and white. That there's a fair bit we still don't know. Ultimately I'm finding out that we probably need to listen a lot more than we "do."
