Agreed. Young people need real opportunities, and they also need to be ready when those opportunities come. The ones building skills quietly today, in whatever role they have, are preparing for that door. Readiness is a form of hope.
Young people have been called the leaders of tomorrow for generations. But tomorrow cannot keep being postponed. Dr. @RufusIdris, Country Director, AGRA Nigeria, emphasised that Africa's young people are ready to shape its agrifood future today. What they need are opportunities to lead, build businesses and earn a living from their ideas and hard work. Through YEFFA, the focus is on creating pathways to dignified and fulfilling work across agrifood systems. Grow your tomorrow, Today. #AGRA #AGRAImpact #YEFFA #AGRANigeria #YouthInAg | @MastercardFdn

I met a young man yesterday who was sure God had rejected him. His family had shut him out, and he felt powerless over habits and past choices. I asked him what he wanted God to do for him. He said, help me overcome, and use my story through my music to help others. Then he added "but I'm too far gone." I told him something I believe with all my heart. Once God helps him, his story will make him more relatable than me. I then shared a little of mine. I didn't grow up with my father or know my mother. He smiled and I felt he became a little hopeful. That was the point. The hope he felt in that moment is what God wants to give other people through his story. We prayed, and he gave his life to Christ. So if you are starting this week feeling disqualified, hear this: today's limitation is not your identity. It's a chapter, not the name God calls you. What have you written yourself off from that God has not?

Imagine 10 Nigerians on a bus. Five refuse to vote. Of the other five, three choose a driver heading for a cliff. All 10 face the consequences. “I don’t do politics” won’t get you off the bus. As 2027 approaches, remember: we all live with the outcome. Participate.

I welcome this initiative, but my experience with Ilera Eko leaves me concerned. I paid for annual plans for several people. A few months later, hospitals began turning them away. Most have since abandoned the scheme and now we pay their medical bills out of pocket.
Today, I flagged off the enforcement of Executive Order EO/BOS/01 of 2024 and unveiled the Lagos Private Health Plans (LPHP), which will extend health insurance coverage to salaried workers and corporate organisations, complementing our existing Ilera Eko scheme for vulnerable residents and those in the informal sector. Healthcare costs are rising rapidly and relying on cash payments when an emergency strikes simply does not work. We are changing that system today so that quality care is accessible to all without putting your life savings at risk. We are giving every resident until December 31, 2026, to get covered, with formal enforcement beginning on January 1, 2027. While our Ilera Eko scheme continues to protect vulnerable citizens and workers in the informal sector, we have introduced the Lagos Private Health Plans to serve corporate organizations and salaried employees. Twenty-one HMOs have already joined us as partners to expand this coverage across the private sector. To ensure no one is left behind, we tripled our Health Equity Fund from ₦1 billion to ₦3 billion. This allows us to pay premiums directly for over 500,000 residents who cannot afford insurance on their own. We are also setting a firm boundary for all healthcare providers, no hospital in Lagos is permitted to turn away anyone needing emergency care due to financial constraints. Patients must be stabilized first before any payment or insurance details are discussed. To our business owners and employers, employee healthcare is not an optional extra, it is a mandatory responsibility just like pensions. To our doctors and medical professionals, strengthening our healthcare financing builds the solid foundation we need to keep your talents right here at home. We are protecting families from the burden of unexpected medical bills, helping more people seek care when they need it and building a healthcare system that works for everyone. No one should have to choose between getting medical care and protecting their household finances. This is how we build a healthier Lagos where quality healthcare is accessible, affordable and within everyone’s reach.

I also partner with NGOs for similar support, and we’ve had the same experience. These initiatives need to work consistently for the people relying on them. For people who need regular treatment, the uncertainty is a serious concern.

Sunmola Abigail, founder of Sup Alive, came prepared for the pitch. Sup Alive is a Zobo manufacturing company seeking the grant for expansion. What a wonderful presentation.
I came across a show where young entrepreneurs were pitching for a N5 million grant. And I was hosted by a Church. Interesting.

Pastor Debo Omotunde of Elevation Church, who is also the judge, ask Sunmola Abigail some questions. He asks her about her business model, cost of production, revenue, scalability, and distribution network. And she seems to know her numbers to win the grant.

The biggest opportunity AI may create for you might not be another job in tech. It might be the ability to use everything you have learned in tech to solve problems in industries you never considered before. Look out for it.

Drake held a concert in Manchester, I bought tickets and went. The Weeknd held a concert in Manchester, I was also there. Burna Boy, I dey there. Chris Brown, I dey front row. Rema at the O2, na me arrange the seats for everybody. I have attended so many other concerts and will attend more. Nobody objected, faulted me or called me a lost cause for attending these concerts or going to stadiums to watch football. I also have no right to call anyone a lost cause if they go to a stadium for religious activity. I’d be a tall chunk of hypocrisy if such comments ever came out of me. Just recently, you held a watch party for an Arsenal game and Arsenal fans attended and there was gleeful moments + memories made. Nobody called them a lost cause. Do the same. Leave people alone to do what they like. Stop forming fake deep every time because of the small faux intellectualism you think you’ve come upon. Leave people alone. We will all die eventually, and in 300 years nobody will remember we existed. Leave people alone.
Lol…A LOST PEOPLE!!

We never prayed for God's greatest gift to us. We didn't even know about it, i.e the plan, how then could we have prayed? God in his love sent man's greatest gift, Jesus Christ and so it is with all he wants to do in and through you.

You will not lose your job this week, in Jesus’ name! For everyone the enemy has marked for sudden job loss, I pray for you: May God overturn every plan against your livelihood. May He preserve your job, establish the work of your hands, and cause you to find favour where decisions concerning you are being made. You will not receive bad news this week. In Jesus’ name. Amen! 🙏🏾
