🚨 PSA for anyone running a Linux server, node, or relay CVE-2026-98432 is a critical Linux kernel bug (CVSS 9.8). Someone on the internet can send crafted TCP packets and take over your machine. No login needed. Ubuntu and Red Hat haven't shipped a fixed kernel yet. Debian, SUSE, Oracle and Amazon have. What to do today: 1. Check your kernel: uname -r Fixed versions: 6.1.190+, 6.6.159+, 6.12.113+, 6.18.56+, 7.2.10+ or 7.3+. Below that, you're exposed. 2. If your distro has a fix, update and reboot. 3. If not, block the attack. It needs TCP packets with "IP options," which normal traffic never uses. One nftables rule drops them. Log what gets dropped so you can see if someone's probing you. 4. Turn off MPTCP unless you need it: sysctl -w net.mptcp.enabled=0 Programs built with Go 1.24+ use MPTCP automatically, and that's how the known exploit gets in. 5. Make it survive a reboot, and check it still works after one. If you run a Bitcoin node, a Lightning node or a Nostr relay, your machine is on the internet by design. Do this today. Self-hosting is freedom. Patching is part of the job. 🛡️

I've dreaded this day... The last No Agenda episode ever. Thank you for the many years of laughs, wisdom, and media deconstruction. The void you leave behind in the lives of NA listeners will be indescribably large. NA will be truly missed 💔

Kentucky residents played a loud recording of the noise pollution from data centers to show its disruptive impact. Within seconds, county officials grew irritated and told them to “act like adults” and turn it off. The corrupt politicians who vote for and push these data centers onto our communities couldn’t handle the piercing sound for a few seconds, yet expect residents to live with it every day. Welcome to the USA, where politicians prioritize the bottom line of the corporations and billionaires that fund their campaigns over the needs of our people and communities.

This is why permanent daylight savings failed in the 70’s School bus stops on streets with zero streetlights. I didn’t see this family waiting for the bus in the dark until I turned the corner. But hey, you’ll have more time to golf so f’them kids, right?

guys, it's just business. just find another coding agent that hasn't inked a strategic partnership with your device's manufacturer.
Let me get this straight. A guy keeps getting weirdly targeted ads on his new Samsung TV. So he breaks into his own TV to find out why. 1.2M people watch. 42 hours later, OpenAI deactivates his account. Reason: "Cyber Abuse." His words: "i have never used openai to exploit or find vulnerabilities, only local reverse engineering" Same week, people on r/claude say Claude now cuts off reverse-engineering write-ups MID-SENTENCE: "A safety check stopped my response partway through creating the playbook" The TV is fine. The guy who opened it is the problem.

Preparing for EMP… Hey @grok, Typically how old of a vehicle will a person need in order for it to be mostly immune to the effects of EMP? Start with the year.
