not to pile on fic writers but this dismissive mentality's def a downstream effect of the whole 'we're not serious we're just playing with dolls!' response we give any general fic critique to avoid confronting insecurities when in actuality most of us (rightfully) care a lot
this is the shit i'm talking about, y'all are doing waaaaaay too much now. 'we have your work so now you're worthless to us' is just gross on a human level, regardless of the context
tbh i do think it's weird how many fics i've seen get gagged over on personal twt accounts with 1k+ likes and then the fic itself and it has like 3 comments. i get the criticism of demanding engagement but imo there's nuance to it beyond 'praise me!' that does implicate readers
don't even have to look at the comments to know half of them are some iteration of 'pry it from my cold dead hands!!!'
