QUERYING & SUNK COST FALLACY: Many of us keep querying because we've already spent so long looking for agents. We spend years banging our heads on rejection after rejection because we've already gone through so much. There are alternatives.

Hot take: I'd rather a reader stop reading my novels than power through if they don't like them. Most readers like my novels, but they aren't for everyone. I've written in 3 genres, so a reader may enjoy one and not the others.
