ugc tip:
before you celebrate a video for views, read the comments
if everyone is talking about the hook and nobody is talking about the app, you didn't get distribution
you got the wrong audience at scale
creator > founder is the most unfair advantage rn
joycakes: mukbang tiktoker → viral mochi cheesecakes recipe → cafe
ugc creators launching apps are doing the same thing. distribution first, product second
“do what you love for work and you won’t ever have to work a day in your life”
is a myth
even when you’re doing something you love, there will always be hard, boring, and repetitive parts of the process
learning to push through those parts without losing your passion for what you do is such an underrated skill

It cannot be overstated how much your quality of life decreases when it gets dark at 5pm instead of 7pm

re: agentic shopping
I have NEVER in my life heard so much hype and discussion about a tech/product experience that basically does not work at all for me.
I feel like I’m using theranos
underrated must haves when hiring ugc creators:
- tech savvy
- not on 10+ campaigns
- chronically online
- has systems (editor, VAs)
- lowk not chopped
one common mistake when running a ugc program is having creators IMMEDIATELY follow and interact with each other on brand new accounts
ugc tip for app demos:
don't immediately start introducing your app.
notice how higgsfield videos often start by mentioning amazon, youtube, or another familiar platform before introducing higgsfield itself.
"i'm already having creators do talking head ugc but it's still not converting"
here's why:
- you're not replicating proven viral formats
- you're jumping on viral formats too late when they're already oversaturated
- your hooks get views but attract the wrong audience
- there's no CTA encouraging viewers to engage
- the app mention feels forced or unrelated to the video
- your creators don't match your ideal customer profile

I’ve talked to 10+ app founders doing $2M ARR+.
And NONE of them are using agencies for UGC or clipping.
They do it all in house for much higher margins.
And you’re thinking of hiring an agency at 5k/MRR lol
ive lived in america for years now and people caring this much about halloween is still a culture shock to me
reminscing the good times of ugc
when 7 second text on screen converted well
and creators printed money with these 7 second videos
