Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

You’re buying one pizza out of many. You don’t care which. One flight of many. You don’t care which. But you DO care about which house you get. That’s why it takes so long. Does it take you 6 months to pick a hotel? No. But because you’re a picky mf, your house takes a long time to buy. Same problem with university and a doctor. Go into the ER having a heart attack and you will get taken care of immediately, because you don’t care about the rest. It’s not a paradox, you just don’t know what the problem is.
I think I’ve found a new paradox. I can watch my pizza cross town in real time. Ad tech runs millions of auctions a second. I can compare 3,000 flights instantly. Yet buying a house takes six months. Getting my kid into a University takes letters, phone calls and politics. Healthcare runs on fax machines, and surgeons draw on limbs so they cut the right one. Voting, benefits, tax, government, politics, all utterly medieval. We’ve perfected the trivial and abandoned the vital. The Goodwin Paradox: the more something matters, the less it has changed.

Is Claude an advisor protected by executive privilege?
The ranking members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees have written a letter to President Trump asking whether he has been soliciting advice from Grok in order to help carry out his official duties as President of the United States. They also demanded that he preserve any prompts sent to Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, as well as outputs in response to those prompts, that were 'submitted to AI chatbots in carrying out your constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties.' The letter was provided by Politico.

So, just got Claude Duet. As a dedicated Grok @bot user, I was excited because Claude has been my number one for years. Except it only runs in the cloud, so I can't have it control apps, run stuff from the command line, or access files on my Mac... so it's basically useless for the biz workflows that I have been loading onto Grok Bot. That's a bummer. Hope that gets fixed soon.

The @AP wrote a long piece on GM's self-driving car efforts, which are respectable and impressive — but it gives just one line to @tesla, which has a far more advanced system available today. "Tesla lists technology used in its cars as 'Full Self-Driving,' but it still requires human oversight." REALLY? apnews.com/article/automaker…

Absolute scandal. That ball was going to Mars.
Oh. My. Goodness. This ball hit by France looked to potentially be a go-ahead home run, but it hit the roof and was caught, and was ruled an out.

Do not abuse this. It is for life-threatening situations, like the one we saw in Twin Falls, Idaho. Sometimes the world is a scary place. Be prepared.
A feature we hope you never need. We select Supercharger locations with safety in mind and relocate sites deemed unsafe. Our goal is that you always feel safe getting out to unplug. We went back and forth on this for years, but believe offering it is the right call. Don't abuse it, so we don't have to restrict it. Great work by many teams across Tesla to get this launched. We'll improve it quickly based on feedback.

Move fast, don’t break things.
My Starbase Louisiana SpaceX town hall notes! Roads: Bridge work is the first priority, with road upgrades coming soon. Once construction starts, they plan to bus contract workers in to reduce traffic. About 40,000 acres will be developed. SpaceX says it is committed to keeping the other two-thirds accessible to the public for hunting and fishing. More specifically, expect limited access south of Humble Canal. Why 40,000 acres? One reason: some pads will be operational while others are still being built. That means more spacing between pads. They do not anticipate structural damage to homes in Pecan Island, and say they will work with residents if it becomes necessary. Target: 10,000 launches a year. Expect most activity around sunrise and sunset. First permits should start showing up soon. Starship will be manufactured on site. There will not be one contractor in charge. There will be many, with SpaceX keeping the lead. Contractors are held to a high standard and will have to keep earning their spot on this site. Biggest takeaway: SpaceX is humble. Always wanting to learn, and not claiming to have all the answers. They are leaning on experts in Vermilion Parish for wetland and wildlife knowledge while developing the largest spaceport in history.

While I agree that this is a silly move by the White House... ...if you need access to the building to cover the Trump Administration, you're a stenographer, not a journalist.
Today’s action revoking access for journalists from CNN, POLITICO, and MSNOW violates the First Amendment. The implications extend beyond these organizations: a standard used to exclude one news outlet because of its coverage could be applied to any outlet in the future. The American people, through a free and independent press, must be able to scrutinize those elected to power, regardless of whether government officials view it favorably.  That’s why courts have repeatedly held that once the White House provides access to journalists, it cannot deny that access arbitrarily or based on the content of their reporting. The WHCA calls on the administration to immediately restore our colleagues' access. - Jacqui Heinrich, WHCA President
