Exclusive: A Republican staffer warned Greg Sankey that if SEC leaders didn’t pledge support for the Protect College Sports Act before the midterms, its chance to pass would be lost.

Latest for @FOS
Hours before endorsing the Protect College Sports Act the SEC received a memo from a GOP staffer that ended with
“After the election, because of who is likely to win the House, you won’t see this bill…being considered The asks from the Democrats begin with employee status, collective bargaining rights, and end with private right of action. Let’s get this done.”

In a mountain of AI slop we haven't gotten Kirk Herbstreit going "Why would I deceive you" yet?
Last month, Kirk Herbstreit said he doesn't follow politics or pick sides.
Which was nonsense. Just last week, Herbstreit quietly headlined a fundraising dinner for Alabama's second-biggest PAC.
The next day, it sent $155,000 to Tommy Tuberville.

I filed a public records request with @UF for records concerning SEC communications about the Protect College Sports Act.
UF responded & I mailed a check for production of the responsive records. After nearly a month of waiting, UF denied the entire request, citing Florida’s direct support organization exemption to public records laws.
The problem: My request covered communications with UF’s president and government relations staff.

I’m excited for next football Sunday because it’s November 1, which means you’re going to get “if you vote for this candidate, he’ll murder your family and slaughter your dog” ads and “tis the season to be jolly and merry and spread holiday cheer” ads back-to-back
