Ive said it many times that I’m not only proud but I’m thankful for the people that have helped me in my life. Today is the first time Dave Ellis has come to my town to hang out at my shop. Dave gave a nobody kid a job, a place to live in Phoenix, and provided a foundation that has set the stage for most of my career. We sat and had a 3hr lunch and then talked about life for another 3hrs at my fab shop and race shop
30yrs ago he was chewing my ass teaching me how to do things. Today we talked as friends and people who respected each other
I know i post alot of these types of stories but i feel like some of the humanity is absent in alot of life. It took me a while to realize the value of some of these relationships. I share these stories hoping they help people see the value in their particular situations as they are living in them. Not realizing it 30yrs later after people are gone
And speaking of cool shit, when i was a teenager i had a Lee Brewer Jr t shirt. I was a fan and thought he was just a good driver and a cool dude. Never met him, but i had a shirt. Well, Lee Brewer Jr called me today. The fan boy racer in me couldn’t stop smiling. We talked for 30mins. And although I’ve still never met him in person, it still baffles me how life works out 😳
