▪️EU Regulation 2015/758 mandated eCall emergency systems capable of transmitting vehicle location data.
▪️EU Regulation 2019/2144 mandated event data recorders, intelligent speed assistance, driver monitoring and other electronic safety systems. All captured for government and insurance companies.
Norway adopted both EU rules through the EEA.
And now everyone’s shocked that Chinese connected cars have recorded Norwegian soldiers’ movements?
perhaps, before filling cars with cameras, sensors and data recording technology, governments should remember unless they build the cars and all the components then another country will CONTROL ALL THE DATA? Better still stop spying on your own citizens!
🇳🇴🇨🇳 OMG! Norwegian Home Guard soldiers discovered that Chinese-linked rental cars had RECORDED THEM during an Oslo exercise, including their movements and the codes they entered at military gates.
The cars came through Hertz Norway, tied to China’s Geely group via Volvo, and the unit kept using them because alternatives were scarce.
Modern vehicles store video and location data by default.
Pointing that capability at military movements and access codes turns a rental into a security problem.
The footage was deleted later, but it’s unclear whether any data left the cars.

Some of them do and they do it for attention and clicks, they record themselves and label any man who looks in their direction a creep. Filming in gyms needs to be banned and you need to develop a sense of humour.

Monster, Aamer Araf repeatedly stabbed a mother until she lost consciousness, then grabbed her 7-month-old son by the legs and smashed his head into the walls.
When police arrived he used the injured baby to try and avoid arrest.
He got 8 years (plus extended licence) for GBH.
Now under this appalling labour government he’s eligible for parole.
Apparently nearly killing an infant is the sort of thing the system likes to reassess after a few years inside.

I've just seen on the BBC News that a 14 year old boy who stabbed a girl after she broke off their brief relationship, has not been jailed.
He also stabbed a shopkeeper who intervened.

Police say there is 'no cause for concern' after a group of 20 men allegedly surrounded, followed and photographed' two teenage girls on Plymouth Hoe
Police have insisted there is "no cause for concern" following allegations that two 16 year old girls were photographed, followed and surrounded by a large group of men in broad daylight.
In a widely shared Facebook post, a family member alleged that around 20 men, some reportedly wearing balaclavas, began taking photographs of the girls before following them as they attempted to leave.
The post further alleged that the men tried to cut off the girls' escape route towards the Gypsy Moth pub, with additional men reportedly emerging from a white van.
Devon and Cornwall Police have now confirmed they received a report of two teenage girls being made to feel uneasy by a group of around 20 men in the Citadel Road area at approximately 4.50pm on Thursday 8 October.
However, police say no criminal offences have been identified at this time.
