Zaslon JSC is proposing the development of a lightweight anti-drone air defence system called Kochevnik, based on a new 80 mm S-8VTs rocket adapted to engage drones.
❌ The upgraded S-8 unguided rocket has been developed for integration onto Ka-52M helicopters (Project Rezets), Mi-8AMTSh-V (Project Konevets), as well as Ka-29 helicopters and ground-based platforms.
In addition to the rocket itself, the system includes an upgraded airborne radar for target acquisition and missile guidance, as well as B810-UV control units.
❌ The S-8VTs is reportedly capable of engaging targets at ranges of 400 to 1,500–4,000 metres, depending on the helicopter platform. It carries a high-explosive fragmentation warhead with a programmable fuze.

#DDD2026 | Session IV Panel Discussion: Atmanirbharta in Aerospace @ 2047
Mr Sameer Joshi @joe_sameer CEO and Director, NewSpace Research & Technologies, speaks on “Atmanirbharta in UAVs @ 2047”
The cyber-physical stack is an amalgamation of many industries, with sense, perception, compute, communication, and validation layers. These will compress the OODA loop. Saturation is the bedrock of next-generation warfare. Indigenisation is needed in every module to create combat mass and saturation effects. Collaborative autonomy is critical in gaining the upper hand in drone warfare. Innovation cycles must be compressed to build a bedrock of capabilities. Challenges include the fact that drones have 50-60 per cent imported components.
Since #Op Sindoor, India has inducted Rs 10,000 crore worth of drones, but it has not exported a single drone. We need to get into the business of indigenizing drone components. We need to design for production. India can learn from global best practices in the drone field, including from countries such as South Korea, Turkiye and even China. - Mr Sameer Joshi

While we were absorbed in the Air Chief's changeover, former CAS ACM BS Dhanoa at @USIofIndia Mil Heritage Fest answered a question that refuses to retire: why didn't the IAF use combat air power in 1962?
The answer isn't in one note. Nor is it hidden.

WATCH: Chinese state broadcaster CCTV has released footage that appears to show a ballistic missile hitting a full-scale mock-up of a U.S. aircraft carrier at a desert test range in Xinjiang.
The missile was a DF-26B, the anti-ship variant of the PLA Rocket Force’s Dongfeng-26.
The road-mobile DF-26 can carry nuclear or conventional warheads, has a reported range of 3,000–5,000+ km, and is often called the “carrier killer.”

Pouring milk into the Brahmaputra as part of religious rituals is a matter of faith, but throwing the empty milk packets into the river afterwards is absolutely ridiculous. Respect your beliefs, but respect nature too.
Keep the Brahmaputra clean! 🙏🌊
PS - I don’t see any dustbins placed on riverfront stretch.

On October 31, 1972, Navy SEAL Michael Thornton faced a choice few could make. Amid a brutal ambush, his team was withdrawing when he learned Lieutenant Thomas Norris had been hit and left behind.
Without hesitation, Thornton sprinted back through enemy fire, shot two enemy soldiers, and lifted his unconscious officer onto his shoulders. Then he carried Norris 400 yards to the water and swam for two hours through open surf, under relentless fire, refusing aid until his comrade was safe.
For his extraordinary courage and unwavering loyalty, Thornton was awarded the Medal of Honor - one of the only men in history to save a fellow Medal of Honor recipient. His actions embody the SEAL creed: no one left behind. 🇺🇸

President Zelenskyy awarded Kostiantyn Vlasenko the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Kostiantyn carried out combat missions at the position in Kharkiv region for 491 days - nearly half of that time while severely wounded and without both feet.
Yesterday, we all saw the video of Kostiantyn Vlasenko, a Ukrainian Defender from the 30th Brigade, being evacuated by drone from a position on the left bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk sector, Kharkiv region.
I was deeply impacted by the video and his interview.
After being seriously wounded in February, Kostiantyn lost one leg. Several months later, when gangrene set in, he had to amputate his other leg himself. Throughout all of this, he continued to hold the position alone.
Several attempts to evacuate him by land had failed, so different units of Ukraine's Defense Forces came together to rescue Kostiantyn.
I'm speechless.
