if you define the 2015 "pivot to video" era by the worst actors, it was a dumb time.
but i refuse to see only that, because @voxdotcom was an incredible counter-example that a focus on video could really well too. i'm so insanely proud of my many former colleagues.
Will they find a way to be a modern record label, providing a valuable process and imprint on well-made work and sharing the spoils? Or will they demand total ownership like Motown?

i think i'm going to have a stroke. in 2015, facebook tried to incentivize idiotic, terrible things which did sow many a failure. but it's absolutely not true that all newsroom investments in video were "too early" or didn't pan out.

Education is what powers the American dream. The first episode of the new YouTube series DREAM ON shows how that’s happening through the work of Communities in Schools, which provides support to K-12 students nationwide. The episode spotlights their relationship-driven model in San Antonio. We get plenty of bad news about the education system but we hear less about the success stories.
