🌟 Believing in someone can change their life.
🎥 📔 I had the immense privilege of sharing a few thoughts at the legendary broadcaster Martin Locke's book launch: Unlocked.
Martin has shaped my life in extraordinary ways.
but one of the biggest lessons he taught me was the transformative power of believing in someone, especially when they don’t yet believe in themselves.
If you're looking for inspiration and incredible stories, grab a copy of his autobiography!
The ‘small things’ matter. Guess which side the @springboks were warming up.
Wow the Principality Stadium is incredible.

Super excited to have the second paper of our study on health support for retired professional rugby players published in @SAJsportmed
Key findings:
🧠 The retired professional rugby players reported significantly lower global mental health levels compared to the matched controls.
🔴 The retired rugby players also reported significantly higher levels of joint impairment for activities of daily living.
🚫 💊 Most of the retired rugby players reported they do not use pain medication.
🏉 Professional rugby careers have a considerable impact on the joint health and overall well-being of retired players, resulting in unique challenges.
🔵 The findings emphasise the need for specific after-career support for challenges faced by retired rugby players.
Thank you to my supervisors and co-authors for all your work, guidance and support! On to the next one :)

📓 Brilliant to see the Power of Journaling at the Olympics 📓
A couple of months ago, I started handing every young athlete I work with a journal. Why? Because the athletes who made the quickest and most significant progress made journaling part of their sport journey.
Journaling helps athletes:
🤔 Reflect on their progress
🆔 Identify patterns in performance
😧 Process setbacks and challenges
🥅 Set clear, actionable goals
➕ And a lot more!
Nicola Olyslagers won silver in the women's high jump last night and after every jump, sat down with her journal.
Let's encourage our young athletes to make it a part of their routine!

I love the honest reflection. Intrinsic (love of running) and extrinsic (Porsche 🚘 ) motivation are both crucial. Future Elite: Empowering Young athletes talks about exactly this. Please send me a DM if you would like me to send you the activity book for the first module for your athletes
Is there a more exciting British athlete currently?
Today we welcome Olympian Keely Hodgkinson for an open, emotional, revealing conversation.
We talk setting goals, remaining consistent, dealing with setbacks, and building self belief.

🚨🚨🎙️| Lionel Messi opened up on his mental health during his time at Barcelona:
“I did [go to a psychologist] for a while to be honest, when I was in Barcelona, a long time ago.
“I had never tried that before. I was very reluctant to. I didn't like it. I'm a person who bottles up everything and swallows it, the good and the bad.
“And the truth is, when I went, it did me very well. I really liked it and helped me a lot.”
If I remember correctly, a few minutes before this photo you were doing commentary in your boxers @MphoMbiyozo ! Happy birthday for yesterday 🍻🍻Hope you celebrated well
