Rather envious of the MOTH Club gig with Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt. A great roundup, as always, from @john_earls

Autumn issue of @detailmag has a piece by me on Jazz 625 which includes an interview with bass legend Dave Green who is the only person still alive to have appeared on the original run of shows. Loads more too. You can order a copy here: detailmaguk.com/product-page…

Fantastic evening with the legendary Patti Smith talking about her book ‘Bread of Angels’ at Royal Festival Hall as part of London Literature Festival. Patti was inspiring and moving and must be a dream to interview but Dua Lipa was a superb and thoughtful interviewer.

Good episode of Mark Ellen & David Hepworth’s Word In Your Ear podcast. Helen O’Hara (@oharaviolin) talks about her fabulous book What’s She Like (extended & updated in paperback), Dexys, working with Nicky Hopkins and the importance of a good drummer. youtu.be/BtiD7MMJ-2o?si=XrCm…

Happy 10th birthday to @TUFAC4. Solidly spreading joy and antifascism in their own inimitable style.

A venerable vocal Friday Red Wine Three from @TheMumper. Loved the 'Individualist Waltz' opener and 'Sans Toi’ from 'Cleo from 5 to 7' is gorgeous but this Pentangle film closer not only features the great Danny Thompson on bass but a drummer’s hands close up. #DrummersUnion.

RIP Donal Lunny. A frequent contributor to the soundtrack of my life over many years. I was blessed to have seen him perform live and I’ve lost count of how many albums I have that he has contributed to, but this one still holds a special place. Fly well.
