Adela and daughter Sofia are now home! Adela was locked away at the Dilley Trailer Prison four weeks after giving birth to her son. Parents know the first few weeks with a newborn are so precious and important. ICE took them away from her. Sofia too suffered from being locked away and torn apart from her siblings, dad, school, and life. I am grateful they are now home and reunited with their family. Yet a postpartum mother and her little girl should never have been imprisoned in the first place. Thank you to everyone who spoke out. We will not stop until we shut down Dilley and end family detention.

BREAKING: Pete Hegseth PUNISHES the poor sailor who jumped off a US Navy ship -- AND his family -- in a heartless show of cruelty and spite! Nicholas McKelvey was just 19 years old when he reached the end of his rope aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. He had spent 255 grueling days at sea, working 12-hour shifts in punishing heat, often without enough food, while his wife struggled to raise their children back home. He had missed the birth of his baby daughter. His mother-in-law was in treatment for cancer. And when he sought help for his deteriorating mental health, he says the Navy directed him to a chaplain instead of a mental health professional. Then, one August morning, McKelvey ran across the flight deck and plunged 67 feet into the Arabian Sea. A helicopter crew rescued him. But instead of treating his desperate act as a mental health emergency, the Navy accused him of FAKING his crisis to escape deployment. And on Thursday, the Navy moved to discharge him under conditions that will cost him his G.I. Bill education benefits – the very benefits he and his wife had been counting on to build a better life for their children. “They'd rather blame the victim,” his wife, Samantha Larry, told The NYT. McKelvey and Larry have been together since middle school. They became parents as teenagers, dropped out of high school and married last year. He joined the Navy in 2024 in hopes of giving his family some sort of stable future. What he found instead was life aboard an aircraft carrier whose deployment stretched to a near-record 322 days as the war with Iran dragged on. Food supplies dwindled. Contact with home became difficult. McKelvey told his wife he wasn't sure he could finish the deployment. “I didn't want to be there anymore,” he told the Times. “If I was going to die because of it, then that's just how it is.” McKelvey was not alone in his existential angst. According to the Navy's own report to Congress, there were EIGHT suicide attempts among sailors in the Lincoln strike group during the deployment. The Navy maintains that McKelvey deliberately jumped overboard to get out of his duties. Its records note that he wore a flotation vest and jumped when the sea was relatively calm. But one officer acknowledged in a report that the deployment had been so difficult it was “unsurprising that we might have a jumper.” Now McKelvey and his wife are preparing to return to Florida with their 3-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter. They're staying with relatives and in temporary rental housing while they figure out how to support their family. “We're going to have to pull out student loans,” Larry said. “It is essentially setting us up for just putting us in debt.” The Navy kept these sailors at sea for nearly 11 months, sent them into a war zone, worked them through punishing conditions and watched their mental health deteriorate. Eight suicide attempts in a single strike group should have set off every alarm in the Pentagon. Even if every day of that deployment was militarily necessary, the sacrifices these sailors made deserve recognition, compassion and care. Instead, when one 19-year-old father finally broke, the Navy accused him of faking it and took away the college benefits he had earned his family's hopes on. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth loves to preach his “warrior ethos,” but what kind of warrior culture treats a sailor's psychological collapse as a disciplinary problem rather than a human emergency? McKelvey gave the Navy everything he had until he had nothing left to give. Now the institution he served is sending him home to his wife and two small children with fewer opportunities than he had when he enlisted. If this is how America repays the sacrifices of its young service members, the Pentagon has a great deal more to worry about than its recruiting numbers.

Really, Grob? WTF did you expect? "Today Archbishop Jeffrey Grob of Milwaukee issued a public apology for participating in the prayer event, and said the White House had publicized it “without the consent of the participants.” He insisted that praying for Trump “was in no way an endorsement of his policies or his party. Grob said he went to the White House with fellow bishops to discuss “immigration enforcement, religious worker visas, and human dignity.” “We were told the meeting was to be a private discussion, that several Catholic members of the cabinet might make an appearance, and that there could be an opportunity to pray privately with the president.” After the private meeting with domestic policy advisors, they were ushered into the Oval Office, where Trump gave them commemorative tokens. He explained: “We were then directed to stand behind him and pray. After which several photos were taken and we were ushered out. Unbeknownst to the group of bishops a video was also taken. But permission for the public distribution or posting of either the video or photos was not given by the bishops.” The White House immediately released the video and photos, Grob said, and he began to receive “messages of serious concern over the possibility that I had inadvertently participated in a political event less than two weeks before a national election” and communications from those hurt by the president’s policies. “I feel a heavy sadness, not only over the pain I caused, but also for the fact that something so sacred to a group of religious leaders, prayer to our Heavenly Father, would be manipulated in that way. We came in good faith…, not to pose for a political photo opportunity,” he wrote. “We should never have been put in that position by the White House. I did not go without reservations. I wish I had heeded them.”" October 25, 2026 heathercoxrichardson.substac…

Absolute bigotry, hatred, and racism by the BIG Guy.
Trump: "Somalia -- 98% of the people here now from Somalia don't work. They don't have to work because they steal so much. They all have a Mercedes Benz. Low IQ and they live better than you do."

The @GOP must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies.
And another. Trump isn’t just betraying Ukraine to the Kremlin, he’s selling out America too.

Juniper’s dad asked me to spend some time with her because he wants his daughter to know women to look up to as she finds her own way in the world. She had so many questions about what I do, and I loved answering them! (She already has her heart set on being a cowgirl when she grows up.) Becoming the first woman to represent my district comes with a responsibility, especially to every fearless girl who is just beginning to discover what’s possible for herself.

Ken Paxton killed the Texas DREAM Act. Dream Act students who earned an associate degree alone represented a potential $9 million in additional state and local tax revenue. His xenophobic and racist actions have only hurt our community. Our VOICE OUR VOTE! #Organize #VOTE I am voting @jamestalarico all the way!
