Preferably in the #Doncaster or surrounding areas.🏡❤️ Meet gorgeous Peggy, a 6-year-old, three-legged Cavapoo who sadly needs a new home through no fault of her own. 💕 #UK 11 Oct 2026. Peggy’s much-loved owner is facing major surgery and a lengthy recovery, which unfortunately means she will no longer be able to care for her. It’s a heartbreaking situation, and we really want to make this transition as gentle as possible for them both. Peggy lost one of her legs following an injury as a puppy, but please don’t let that put you off! This clever little tripod manages beautifully on her three legs and gets around perfectly well in her own way. 🐾 Peggy is a very loving little girl, but she does have some insecurities and needs an understanding, experienced home where she can settle at her own pace. She loves being close to her person and can become anxious when left alone, sometimes crying or licking herself. She can also become a little overprotective or possessive of her favourite human and has occasionally growled in these situations. We want to be completely open about this so we can find Peggy the right home from the outset. She isn’t a bad dog, just a little girl who needs patience, reassurance, gentle boundaries and help learning to feel safe and secure. 🏡 PEGGY’S IDEAL HOME: 🐾 An experienced, patient owner, ideally familiar with nervous or insecure dogs. 🐾 A calm, quieter, adult-only home with no resident or visiting children. 🐾 No other dogs, cats or pets. 🐾 Someone home for most of the day who can gradually help her feel comfortable spending short periods alone. 🐾 Ideally a retired person or couple with plenty of time, love and understanding to offer. 🐾 A quieter, preferably countryside-type location where she can enjoy a couple of gentle walks each day. 🐾 A secure garden and a home where she can settle without pressure, in her own time. We will provide full support and guidance, including help from our qualified behaviourist, to work through Peggy’s insecurities and help her build confidence in her new surroundings. ❤️ Peggy is spayed, vaccinated and has been given a clean bill of health by her own vet. We will also arrange a full assessment with our rescue vet once a suitable foster home is found. We would particularly love to find someone willing to foster Peggy with a view to adopting her, giving everyone time to make sure it’s the right match and avoid having to move her again. Meet gorgeous Toby & Milo, two Chihuahua x Jack Russell boys who need to come into rescue through absolutely no fault of their own. Milo (black boy) is 11 years young and currently around 6.8kg. He could do with losing a little weight (bless him! ) and ideally should be around 5.5kg. Toby (tan boy) is 10 years young and a tiny 3.8kg. They may be older gentlemen, but please don't scroll past them because of their ages! These two have plenty of life, love and adventures left in them and deserve the chance to live their very BEST LIVES. They appear to get along with other dogs, subject to successful meets. They've been fine with cats belonging to family members. They've previously lived with young children, but because they're getting older we'd ideally like a slightly quieter home with children aged 8+. Rosie is struggling in kennels - she’s started to put the brakes on and refuse to come back into her kennel which is just heartbreaking, but who can blame her - she shouldn’t be homeless at her age and be having to go into a kennel. She is safe with us, but desperately unhappy and we won’t sit back and let her struggle. We URGENTLY need a foster home for Rosie ideally with a view to adoption (but not essential). Rosie needs a quieter home where she will get plenty of company, older children upwards, no cats, possibly a very calm smaller older dog as she just ignores dogs . The only time we’ve heard her bark is at a horse - she likes to tell them that she might only be small but she is a terrier after all . A small registered charity is OVERWHELMED 💔 We are currently receiving many more requests to take in dogs than we are adoption/foster enquiries 😔 We have had to turn countless dogs away just in the past week alone - something we absolutely hate to do, and goes against why we are here as a charity, but we simply have no space and our current dogs are all still sat waiting for someone to give them a chance 💔 To make matters worse, the vast vast majority of those enquiries we have received are failing to get back to us after initial contact - this is unprecedented and only a very recent issue that we just cannot understand 😣 PLEASE DO NOT apply to adopt/foster if you are not genuine or serious! It’s soul destroying to receive what sound like promising enquires, only to be ghosted 😓 We are truly doing all we can, but right now it feels like there just aren’t the homes out there and it’s tough - tough on us, but really tough on so many dogs who should be with their forever families 😓 Summer - August in particular - is probably the worst time for rehoming as so many people are away, but this is a plea to those people out there who maybe have already been away, or who have no holiday plans, to please consider fostering or adopting - we’re crying out for help, but please ONLY get in touch if you feel that you genuinely can help ❤️ We have had to seriously limit our intakes and haven’t had any new arrivals 💔 we’re desperate to help more dogs in need, but everything depends on finding homes/foster placements for our current dogs who need us ❤️ There is physically only so much we can do, and we just have no room or foster homes out there to be able to help any more 💔 Please stick with us - we will somehow get through this (even though right at this moment that feels like a pretty impossible task 😓) ❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Helping Yorkshire Poundies Dog Rescue.
