what’s happening with google right now marks the end of the internet as we know it:
- the internet economy runs on search driven ads. pay google, you get customers
- AI is killing this. customers interact with websites via ai now. information is being sourced via models not google search.
problem: ai search isn’t monetized so neither google nor businesses get paid anymore (anthropic and openai do)
result: companies like reddit and amazon just close their doors and the entire ai cycle slows down.
thats why google and reddit are tanking.
