We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

The gap to native is closable.
We rarely share benchmarks (they're hard!), but here's one we ran at @LynxJS_org in Jan to find our own bottlenecks.
@reactnative made cross-platform mainstream. Now it's time for all of us to chase near-native perf without giving it up.

We are upgrading to @preactjs v11
ReactLynx 0.126.0 is out, now running on Preact 11.
Background renders are ~14% faster, teardowns ~11%, and use() now ships from our compat entry.

Are you becoming a smarter pigeon—or are you managing the pigeons?
A reflection on what it really means to become AI-native:
Reading Cliff's 1989 classic this weekend.
No AI, no LLM, just pure good ol' academia and hacking book!
"At the end of the day, we need to show that you can use AI and robotics to save lives."
True. You'd find more negative sentiment about AI if you go to media rather than to schools and educators.
Many schools, professors, and teachers I know tell me AI makes their learning more fun and are huge enthusiasts in figuring out what else AI can bring to their life.
Zipline CEO @Keller calls out AI labs' marketing strategy:
"Technology in many different ways gets a bad rap these days, either because it's only serving rich people or because we're actively telling people that it's going to kill them and kill their families, which is, you know, interesting marketing strategy from some of the AI labs."
"At the end of the day, we need to show that you can use advanced technology, you can use AI and robotics to save lives. You can focus on some of the most important problems humanity has, and you can do it in a way that is equally available."
"It's not just available to the richest people on Earth. It's something that can fundamentally transform everybody's lives, save time, save money, save lives."

BREAKING 🇺🇸🇨🇳🇮🇩🇸🇬
US is about to tell 35 countries:
pick a side between Pax Silica (US) and WAICO (China).
Those who join China’s framework risk being excluded from the US-led initiative.
Fun fact:
Indonesia and Malaysia has been a founding member of WAICO from day one.
But what about Singapore, who’s leading the AI race in SEA right now — with OpenAI, Google, and even Manus opening offices there?
They’re in Pax Silica, this whole time.
AI in SEA is about to get interesting 👀
More ways to extend your Lynx apps capabilities! 🐈⬛️
Many of you have been asking for this, so here we go:
Use any @Capacitorjs plugin with @Lynxjs_org.
Introducing 🐈⬛ lynx-capacitor 🔌: a thin, drop-in bridge for running Capacitor plugins through Lynx’s NativeModule API.
