This seems like the silliest possible conclusion here. Because of a series of DSA internal arguments, there's a public-facing sign-on letter days at the end of the election whose "demands" are recommitting to the things she's been committed to and a statement of support.
In an open letter, the citizens of Los Angeles call upon Nithya Raman (@nithyavraman) to support BDS, an arms embargo against Israel, and more.

Imagine if San Francisco or California did deals like this. Investing in universities like Berkeley or Stanford, and then getting a share of returns in the long run.
Given the amount of wealth in this region, we could fund the best public services in the world.
For decades economic development has relied on tax breaks and subsidies for the largest corporations, a trickle-down approach that too often falls short.
@NYCMayor and @NYCEDC are charting a new path.
In the first deal of its kind in NYC history, the public is investing $30 million in a quantum lab - in exchange for three board seats and 15% of the revenue generated from technology it creates.
And if any firm coming out of the lab merges, gets acquired, or IPOs, the city gets a payout.
When public dollars are invested, the public should share in the wealth and innovation those investments create.

UCLA families are scrambling after the university announced the closure of university-run childcare centers at the end of the 2026-27 school year.
Unless UCLA reverses this decision, parents will have few options. Most nearby daycares have years-long waitlists.
If you’re a postdoc who believes that after a decade of training you should be able to bargain for fair wages and healthcare instead of merely “the opportunity to learn at the feet of a master”, you should reach out to @UAW!

NEW: Major League Baseball owners now get paid more to have a losing team.
We investigated the playbook that allows teams like the Marlins and Pirates to rake in the largest sums of cash while paying players the least.
Billionaires win no matter what, while fans lose out.
"DSA-LA should seize the moment and become the leading left-wing political force in Los Angeles, making ourselves central players in reshaping America’s second-largest city"
Keshav K & Keir H propose a unified theory of endorsements for DSA, one that foregrounds the power we need to build democratic socialism, contending that endorsing Nithya Raman is a necessary step to building socialist power in Los Angeles.
