this is what happens when every gesture, animation, and haptic gets the same love as the feature itself. huge congrats to the team 💚
We rebuilt the @Shopify mobile app for iOS and Android—and with it, shipped the biggest design facelift the app has ever seen.
Smoother gestures, more consistent interactions, fluid animations, and haptics all come together in a beautiful new native design system. And there’s more to come.
Proud of the team for rebuilding one of Shopify’s largest apps while keeping merchants moving @jonrundle @mustafa01ali @TheJackRead @chrisaalid @RedEffect1 and many more ... 💚
Having a blast working with @MSchwaibold @RedEffect1 @chrisaalid and Josh, dream team! We’re just getting started 🚀

A closer look at our biggest design update yet for the Shopify mobile app. We’re rethinking how the app looks, moves, and responds on iOS and Android—
I’ve spent the last few weeks helping bring these details to life alongside an incredibly talented team. @Shopify
So proud of the work we’ve done to uplift the @Shopify mobile app. But this is just the start, so much more to come!

We’ve rebuilt the @Shopify mobile app from the ground up in native for iOS and Android 📱
The new experience brings a fresh design, smoother interactions, and Liquid Glass on iOS. It also launches faster on both platforms, with Android launch time cut by more than half.

Happy iPhone Duo launch day! We've updated the @Shopify app to support it from day one.

pointed the clanker at this to add it to our design prototyping playground + added iphone 18. full prototype running in an iframe over the device. there is seemingly nothing you can't just cast into existence
A week ago I needed a way to illustrate how I wanted an iPhone Duo concept to work. I didn't need a working prototype as much as just a way to share a quick idea. This little Duo Studio was born from that need and figured it was worth sharing out. Go use it here: shopify.design/duo

Been working on this a long time to get the details right.
Have your agents always use the right brand assets and logos in presentations, micro-sites, emails, anything you can think of.
Launching our MCP today. Add logos, colors, brand data and more with a single agent connection.
Give it a try to add brand assets anywhere.

New portfolio is live (!!) 15 years in design in New York, compressed into 8 chapters. Less a collection of case studies, more a career told as lived experience.
You're looking at the eight things that shaped the space between who I am and what I like, make, and care about. They just happen to be represented with gummies instead of company logos.
Honestly, this site is just an excuse to share a collection of personal stories because I enjoy writing. Each chapter breaks down into what I expected, what I found, what followed (The Premise, The Reality, The Plot).
It's equal parts reflection, advice, and a look at some things built along the way.

For all the Duo heads out there our very own @jonrundle spun up a tool to easily mock up all of the new possibilities with the form factor and thought we should share it with you all. Check it out at

The next generation of commerce deserves a next-generation interface. The Shopify admin has a new look, with easier navigation across key workflows and Sidekick front and center when you need a hand.
You can tell the only app in the simulator for Duo is safari… never seen mobile websites talked about this much in my feed 😂 let’s all remember this is what they look like these days anyway
Annoyed by trying to find where I can actually watch the thing I want to watch on the services I have so made a little app over the weekend to make this easier, wild times we live in.

Enjoy our latest AI in Design case study from the @Shopify design team!
This one is crammed with many incredible examples of how they work (the last example made me yell “oh no way” when I first saw it). Lots of teams talk about “a culture that supports experimentation”, but few teams do it at this level.

Shout out to @lukedupont for building the thing instead of drawing it, @xyzfennell for making tools for the entire team, @YaelBienenstock for taking one character through six tools to get things just right, and our Design Apprentices for shipping to @shop in a matter of days.
The way we're designing is changing rapidly and I feel so fortunate to be working somewhere where we can be constantly tinkering and finding new ways of approaching the work.
The only wrong answer is to do nothing, that’s been my main message to the @shopify design team as AI shifts how we work. I enjoyed diving into this with @designerfund, especially as we invest in apprenticeships in a time when designers are becoming more capable and creative than ever.
