I've been waiting for today for over 4 years and I NEED YOUR HELP! Over 4 yrs ago I left my career and launched out with the dream of building the next great competitive game with real collecting! And today is the day that the dream starts to become real! But as with any great dream, it can't be accomplished alone, so I'm here to ask for your help… The latest @origins_tcg demo just went LIVE during #SteamNextFest and every small activity helps….. 1. Play the demo (Monday and Tuesday matter the most) 2. Refer a Friend (and you both get a FREE collector pack) 3. Stream the game (pack bounties in discord) 4. And share this post or tag your favorite gamer or collector. And honestly, pray for us as we take on the giants and change competitive gaming and digital collecting forever! Links below 👇

In late May I stated that @origins_tcg was the best TCG I've ever played. And that still holds true but what I didn't expect was just how much better it could still become. The latest demo has the same core flair, but the improvements to UI, quality of life and everything else finally put it on par with Hearthstone in terms of overall game completion. This is a problem that has plagued web 3 for the past 5 years, releasing unfinished products. My greatest disappointment was Might and Magic fates who launched without crafting, which seems like a small feature, but is really the only feature that actually matters. Origins is building properly, that's what matters most!
I'll say it. @origins_tcg is the best TCG ever made. There have been some great games in the past, but if quality truly matters. This will be the most popular TCG on Steam for the next decade.

Origins will be the first card game to introduce digital game shops We're giving our community, creators and local game stores a new way to grow alongside the game
Imagine heading to your favorite LGS on a random Tuesday night with just your phone in hand, for a night of intense competition with other local Origins players. You're competing for that store-exclusive promo, and maybe pre-ordering a booster of the upcoming collector set. All with a Digital Game… We call it the Digital LGS Program, and it makes @origins_tcg the 1st digital card game to distribute sets through local game stores around the world. - Local Weekly Tournaments - Exclusive "In Person Only" packs and promos - Pre-Orders of upcoming collectible sets (not available in-game) with rewards for supporting your favorite LGS - and BEST OF ALL, finally getting to meet up with real humans, enjoy some competition, and make IRL friends. While the "In-person" events officially kick off in early 2027, stores don't have to wait. Set 1 goes live on Kickstarter on Oct 27th, and unlike most TCG Kickstarters, we're working with local stores on the launch. In just 2 months we have already chatted with over 30 stores interested in joining. So if you're an LGS, reach out. My DMs are open. Let's jump on a call and chat. Oh, and we also have a version of the program for streamers and content creators! Players or Collectors, want to help Origins spread across the world? Tag your favorite LGS or TCG creator below.

300k! If you told me 11 weeks ago that we would be crossing 300k full matches played in @origins_tcg in a demo designed to be completed in 2 hours, I wouldn't have believed you! I believed once people realized that the demo had 5 tradable "demo exclusive" Steam items that can never be unlocked again, many would play the 2-3 hrs to unlock them. What I didn't expect was almost 1,000 players playing more than 20 hrs, and the top players in the multiple hundreds of hours! So thanks once again to everyone who has played Origins, told others about it, made content, or just shared our posts. You guys are all legends! This is the start. The best is yet to come!

It’s time to make my first and hopefully last public apology. I apologize for trying to paint @koingamesio & @origins_tcg as something we're not, and myself as something I'm not. •Koin is not a AAA studio with a giant team and budget. Koin Games IS an indie studio filled with a passionate team of competitors, collectors, and builders. •Origins is not our third or fifth hit game together. It's our 1st game as a studio (though many on the Koin team have built hit games together before), and it's the game we believe the genre and the players deserve: the 1st Free-2-Compete TCG with digital cards you actually own. •And I am not an experienced CEO. I am a 1st-time founder who, after 15+ years of building one of the largest sales teams in tech, left it all and risked the millions I saved to build something I believed in. The truth is that building Origins has been by far the hardest thing I've ever done. Partly because it's my first time, partly because good games are extremely difficult to build, and partly because we are trying to do something that has never been done before. Now, after 4+ years of building, failing, pivoting, failing, and pivoting again, things are finally starting to look pretty good (1M+ trailer views, 16,000+ demo downloads, 97% positive on Steam, almost 200 creators in our community). All thanks to not giving up, the incredible team we have, and, frankly, thanks to YOU! So thank you to every player, collector, and creator who has supported us over the last 4 years. We wouldn't be here without you, and over the next few months we will need you and many others more than ever! To finish, I don't believe an apology means anything unless you make a real change… So from now on, I'm committing to talking about the wins, the challenges, and the mistakes. And I commit to asking for more help from the people we are building for. Starting now. So if you're a fan of fair competition, real collecting, or just backing indie teams, here are a few ways you can help… Play Origins, invite friends or enemies, back the Alpha Edition Kickstarter (Oct 27th), make some content, heck, even share this post, or simply follow along as we try to change competitive gaming and collecting forever! Oh and in the spirit of building in public, here is my real face.

Print Runs and Pop Reports will be 100% public. We believe that is one of the major advantages that digital collecting can provide to collectors. As a long time collector or physical Pokemon and other physical TCGs I wish I knew not just the pop rate of my graded cards (which I do) but also the pop rate of my unopened boxes of evolving skies and other out of print sets. While digital collecting won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s obvious when you look at the volume of cards collected in @PokemonTCGP in its 1st year (117B vs 85B lifetime printed in physical pokemon) that people love to collect and trade on their phones. Add that the secondary market volume of @CounterStrike last year (approx $4.2B) and it’s obvious people love to buy, sell and trade in digital. We believe people will look back and say that a super competitive “Free-2-Compete” digital TCG with collecting like pokemon and trading like CS was the most obvious move in 2026.

okay I've thought a lot about PSA ratings on digital cards now... @Origins_TCG is either genius or insane for trying this. 1. the cards can’t be damaged so it fundamentally feels silly 2. but it adds a tier of rarity that digital cards painfully lack. typical card rarity systems ~7 states (common, uncommon, rare, legendary, etc.) PSA 1-10 ratings with .5 states = 19 x7 = 133 states a card can be in on Origins cards will come in sealed packs, boxes and cases that you can leave sealed on Steam, which is cool for the Alpha set especially. Origins cards can really be thought of as card-skins since the playable cards will all be free to use (this has been confirmed by Origins). the obvious objection is that grading exists to measure condition, and these cards have no physical condition. a digital card can’t be bent or come off the press miscut. grading something that can't degrade looks like importing the aesthetics of a hobby without the substance underneath, and I think that's a reasonable objection. the second objection is about who controls supply. A physical print run is constrained by a factory and a calendar. A digital print run is constrained by nothing. Origins could resolve this by publishing the print amounts and schedules. third, there's a pull any studio has to resist here. A collector layer with real money in it creates pressure to tilt the game toward the people spending, but with Origin’s promise to make all cards free to play with, this seems like a non-issue. I think the last point is why collectors will like this more than their first reaction might indicate. Hearthstone, Snap, and other digital TCGs operate on closed ecosystems - you can’t trade cards so they have no value outside of the decks you can put them in. Rarity only really becomes interesting to the player when they are also the collector. Gods Unchained was the first game outside of Artifact to test what digitally scarce cards could look like with a secondary market… but they took it a bit too far. extremely scarce cards from their Genesis collection (only printed once and never again) like Demogorgon and Pyramid Warden were integral to almost every competitive deck. this (predictably) nuked the competitive scene and created frustration, despite driving volume in the secondary market. this has already been avoided (as stated above, the tradable cards are more like skins of cards, there is no playable benefit besides how they look) the draw back here is you lose the inherent value of a card that is OP, but there’s much less risk of a valuable card losing its value by getting nerfed, or OP decks chasing players away because they cost too much. also… grading a physical card sucks - you have to ship an object worth money to another state, insuring it twice, waiting months, and paying the same fee whether it comes back a 10 or a 7. a 7 can leave the card worth less than it was raw, and you commit to that before you know. Removing the transit, the wait and the gamble is a real improvement rather than a cosmetic one. there's no published grade scale, so nobody outside the studio knows how many strata sit above the seven tiers or how they're determined. there's no live population report today either. published rates and a closed print run are more supply information than most digital collectibles have offered, and a running census of what exists at each grade would be a different thing again. this might be a digital TCG that has a secondary market worth participating in.

Despite EVERY card in Origins being free-to-play with... We're still trying to make it hyper-collectible, because the joy of ripping packs is second to none. Cards will be tradable on Steam!

I think I just found a TCG that is doing something REALLY interesting @origins_tcg is basically what happens when you take the collecting side of Pokémon and combine it with fast, competitive card game gameplay. You can actually TRADE your cards on Steam. 💰 So you're not just opening packs, building a deck, playing a few games and forgetting about your collection. There’s an actual reason to care about the cards you own. And before you think “yeah, but I have to spend money to get started”… Nope. The game is genuinely FREE TO PLAY, and some cards can be earned without spending anything. The gameplay is fast, competitive, and easy to jump into, while the collecting/trading side gives it a whole different layer. I’m genuinely curious to see where Origins goes with this. Would you rather play a TCG where your collection is just a collection… or one where your cards actually have a life outside your deck? 👀
