If you want to understand how the hard right spread lies and propaganda, Tommy Robinson always provides the best examples. Here Tommy takes the total arrest number under the Communications Act 2003 and section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1988 over the last 6 years, and states, utterly untruthfully, that all those arrested were for social media posts. The real data is that only around 12% of arrests under those acts are related to social media, where messages or comments incite violence, breach orders or break other laws. He literally just spiels off lie and lie and his followers lap it up. It’s embarrassing that people fall for this fraud over and over again.
