Let's welcome PassKeys in Sui, login with your FaceID, security key or QR, live in devnet.
Wallet providers, dapps, DeFi platforms, Game Studios please provide feedback before it's enabled in mainnet.
- We have released the passkey SDK as part of the official @SuiNetwork SDK: a frontend can now create a passkey wallet and sign using the passkey in devices of users’ choice.
- See here how to use: github.com/MystenLabs/passke…
- Try it out live in devnet: passkey-example.vercel.app/
- 3 supported flows:
-- (A) desktop browser + phone cross-platform authentication
-- (B) desktop browser + security key cross-platform authentication
-- (C) platform authentication, e.g. FaceID
- Review protocol details in SIP-47: github.com/sui-foundation/si…
- Contribute to the design in this GitHub PR: github.com/sui-foundation/si…
** Note that this feature is currently available in devnet. If you are a developer building a passkey wallet into your frontend or your wallet itself, please reach out. This will help us in testing end to end before launching this feature fully in mainnet.
- upcoming cool features:
-- 👨👩👧👧 multisig with passkeys (imagine 1 out-of 2 zkLogin + passkey etc etc)
-- 🪄 wizard mode (a.k.a popup-less)

My talk is called "Move's next move: moving Move forward in 2024, on Sui". I'll give an overview of the foundational improvements we've made in Move during 2022-2023, show what @SuiNetwork builders are doing with these features, and share some highlights on what's coming in 2024. There are a number of other talks going deeper on upcoming changes:
- @fn_tnowacki on a major source language improvements like enums, macros, and method syntax
- Manos on enhanced package management and source discovery tools
- @themoveguy on the cool design patterns behind advanced Sui standards like kiosk and closed-loop tokens
- @joyqvq on zkLogin to allow web2 accounts to connect your Move-powered app to webs
, as well as number of really interesting looking talks from Move builders and the Aptos, Rooch, and zkMove core teams.
Super grateful to @movefunsdao for hosting this. These folks are the most loyal and energetic supporters of the language going back to the very early days, and have done an unbelievable job in growing the community. Folks like @jolestar especially are true Move OGs--as proof, here's a Github issue comment from @jolestar about building a module publish script on June 19, 2019 github.com/diem/diem/issues/…, the day after the original Move whitepaper dropped!
