✦ the between [ marfa, tx ] this friday and saturday, during @artblocks_io weekend, i’ll open an immersive installation and a prelude to my forthcoming < nine doors > project called the between, built inside a custom-fabricated trailer in marfa, texas. this project explores memory - not as something that lives in the past, but as a dimension we can enter and explore. over the past several months, i’ve built an environment where light, sound, story, and structure converge. inside, there’s a single bench surrounded by 3d-printed geometric walls, projection-mapped displays, spatial audio and custom lighting that shifts and breathes as the piece unfolds. at its heart is a 25-minute film made entirely of new, original artwork and original music i created for this experience. the between is meant to be more than something you look at or listen to - it’s something you enter, feel, and experience. reservations will open soon in 30-minute blocks. capacity will be limited, and entry will be by reservation only. location details and reservation info will follow shortly. for those of you unable to join in marfa, a digital version of the experience will also be available after the installation opens. and since many of you have asked - < the between > will debut during art blocks weekend, though it won’t appear on the official schedule. i spoke with @ArtOnBlockchain about presenting the work, and he’s been very supportive. in the end, i wanted to preserve a sense of mystery - to let it live a little outside the map. part of what excites me about this piece is the unknown: where it will appear, how people will find it, and the experience of stumbling into something unexpected. the installation is part of the weekend’s energy and spirit, even if it isn’t listed on the official calendar. and that’s exactly how i want it. i hope you’ll join me to experience something weird, perhaps moving but entirely unexpected. more to come 🖤 ₥
