Thoughts on the iPhone Duo #5 The volume buttons on the top are the worst decision in the design of this phone. Maybe one of Apple’s worst design decisions in the history of the iPhone. These really must be moved to the side. I would do without the camera shortcut button to have the volume buttons there. I don't even use them because they're hard to reach, and when the phone is open, I have no idea where they are.

Thoughts on the iPhone Duo #4 Touch ID is no problem if you have an Apple Watch. That will usually unlock it, and if you need to use Touch ID for some reason, just register both index fingers and both thumbs, and it's fast. I’ve read a lot of crazy hacks and complaints about Touch ID, and I just haven’t experienced the issues some seem to have.

Thoughts on the iPhone Duo #3 The Duo feels great in the hand. It just fits so nicely. It’s an industrial design marvel. Closed, it has a sturdy feel and is easier to hold than my iPhone Pro Max was. Opened, it's a dreamy small iPad that's light as a feather.

Thoughts on the iPhone Duo #2 The UI on the front phone is just bad. Moving the controls to the right side makes no sense. Apps need that space for content. Apple needs to fix this right away. Forget the Dynamic Island; I don't care about it anyway. Add a small icon at the top for the connection and battery, and put everything else along the bottom. Apple needs to find a way to give as much of the small front screen as possible to content and apps.

Thoughts on the iPhone Duo #1 @gruber is right. You do have this moment where you have to decide: do I want to open it? You're using the tiny outer screen, which is fine for quick interactions like messaging back and forth, and even phone calls and FaceTime, but if you want to read something, anything, or watch a video, you do have to open it. And if you're in a hurry, you just say fuck it, I don't want to open this thing right now.

I’ve had my iPhone Duo for a day and I love it. But I’m replacing a Pro Max, which I’ve always liked for the screen size. The weight is not an issue. An even larger screen in my pocket is great. The volume buttons on top are the most annoying thing. The front phone is weird.
