SWC Next is now in Rspack! Just the parser for now, but this is only the beginning. Get ready for an even faster Rspack
🦀 Rspack 2.3 is here! 🚀 5–20% faster builds ⚡️ SWC Next parser 📉 Up to 27.4% lower peak build memory 📦 Less duplicate code across chunks 💾 ~79% less disk usage with the new cache 🎨 Improved built-in CSS rspack.rs/blog/announcing-2-…

Introducing SWC Next: the foundation for SWC’s next major version, built on a new architecture inspired by Yuku. - Up to 3x faster native parsing - Up to 10x faster parsing through the JavaScript API - A flat, ESTree-based AST designed for speed, memory efficiency, and JavaScript extensibility Starting with parsing, we’re bringing the rest of SWC to this new architecture. Built together by the SWC and Rstack teams.

SWC Next is here! Today, customizing how your code is transformed often means using Babel plugins or writing Wasm plugins for SWC. I believe the next generation of JS compilers should combine Rust's performance with the flexibility to write custom transform plugins in JavaScript. SWC Next's flat AST enables efficient data exchange between Rust and JS, laying the groundwork for fast JS plugins 🚀

Working on a new bundle analyzer for Parcel v3. • Select a bundle and see the modules it contains, what loads it, and which other bundles it depends on. • Select a module and see what imports it, which bundles it's in, which exports are tree shaken, etc.

We’re excited to announce our new CapCut plugin is coming soon to @ChatGPT at CapCutWorldLA. The plugin brings CapCut's video editing and generation tools alongside ChatGPT. You can start with an idea in ChatGPT, bring it to life with the CapCut plugin right inside ChatGPT, then take your draft video to CapCut's web editor to refine, share and publish. By bringing the CapCut product you already love and use in ChatGPT, we're making content creation more seamless and efficient.

Been working on the @RomeAILab Mac app for a while now. My agent and I have been working together really well through it, and the results have been pretty amazing. Can’t wait for you to try it. Stay tuned 👀

Does any serious open-source project need performance improvement? Ideally, - it should have proper benchmarks - the performance is a real, verified problem - the project should be serious, and used by the ecosystem I can send many performance-improvement PRs based on AI and benchmark data. e.g. github.com/lynx-family/primj…
I dropped my experiment based on Blitz and scriptc. I'll contribute to other desktop frameworks instead!

Inspired by nitter.cf/rspack_dev/status/2108…, I've also made an video using @Remotion, trying to help team members understand the chunking optimization I'm doing. This chunking optimization is coming soon.
Less duplicate code. Smaller bundles. 📦 We've improved Rspack's chunking algorithm to reduce duplicate modules across chunks. In a large production project, this change resulted in:
• -2.53% less raw JS size
• -1.51% fewer chunks

新进展 1. 附近同事看我口喷了一整天,声音这么小,他打算带他的大疆 mini mic 加入口喷。 2. 上海同事表示他要安装一个如下图的麦克风,说这样气势上就不一样!

Rspack's code splitting balances bundle size, chunk count, and build time. The next release adds `splitChunks.dedupDepth` to spend more time finding shared code and reducing duplication. In one real-world app with many routes, using this option cut total output size by 9.9%

Chunking has always been hard for bundlers. - No duplicated module, then small chunks, more requests. - Fine, I can deal with duplicated modules, then more total size and more loaded size. - Well we merge dup modules into a single separate chunk, then unneeded size per entry.

By combining compile-time chunking with runtime-aware loading, this feels like the best answer yet to the app chunking problem. Continually impressed by @wSokra and the @nextjs team.

We’re not just building @RomeAILab — we’re running our company on it. As an AI-native company, we use Rome every day to help us get work done. We’ve open-sourced some of the apps we use internally so you can see how we actually work with our agents. github.com/rome-os/rome-apps

I’ve been building Rome for the past four months, since leaving @rspack_dev. I genuinely love this product and this team. Yunfan, one of my best friends, is also the founder of the company, which makes this journey even more special. Follow us — we’ll keep sharing the fun, weird, and interesting things we learn while building and running an agent company.
Every app was designed for a million users. Yours should be designed for one. Welcome to Rome OS, an operating system where your agent builds your apps. It builds what it needs to run your life, uses it, sees what works, and improves it. Each pass, your apps fit you a little better. That's the recursive loop. Apps that grow around one person: you. Comment "ROME" and I'll send you early access.
