Founders and CEOs: how do you decide what to pay yourself?
The answer is rarely straightforward, because there’s more than one lever:
- base salary
- distributions
- credit card points
- business expenses
- more (many CEOs get creative here)
We surveyed 250+ Hampton members and asked exactly how they handle each one. Check it out.
This is just one insight from our 2026 Salary & Compensation Report.

The # 1 most important element of a business: picking the right market.
@JacobCorley (the guy in the red circle) did exactly that.
He started Corley Energy, which builds independent, off-grid power plants for AI data centers. He knew close to nothing about data centers at first, and learned everything on his own. Now, he's aiming to hit $10B with fewer than 5 customers.
He showed us the numbers:
- 2,300+ gigawatts of new power projects are stuck in line, waiting to connect to the grid.
- $650 billion will be spent on A.I. infrastructure in 2026 alone.
- Each customer Jake signs is a multi-billion-dollar contract.
Which is yet another reminder: market > everything else.

I noticed Muse is not enforcing their usage limits at all. I keep hitting 100% every week, but it allows me to continue usage normally. No capping.
muse is the first ai my wife let me put on her phone.
her #1 goal, help remove 163,490 promotional emails sitting in her gmail. Shes tried for years by hand, but gmail always freezes when selecting that many.
Muse took 3 days, hit multiple gmail limits, but worked around them, and just cleared it all out.
shes impressed (for someone who hates ai).
With all the ai bots getting outbound dialing abilities, call volume will climb forcing every business to employ their own ai receiving bots.
Then we’ll just have bots talking to bots.
Cant tell if thats a good thing or not.

How much do CEOs pay themselves?
We surveyed our members at Hampton (1,000+ founders doing on average ~$25m a year) and put their answers into a report.
The answer: $450,000. That's what the median founder earns.
Next, we broke down their salaries across industries. Check it out: joinhampton.com/hampton-sala…
been pitting personal ai assistants against eachother.
Instinct vs grokbot vs muse
so far, as much as I hate meta, muse is my clear winner. 10x faster than Instinct and smarter than grok. It also is able to get into delta, and amex where those 2 get bot-blocked.
Called an idiot in high school. Now at 8 figures in ARR. Turns out the chip on the shoulder was a solid business plan. Proud of you @joshsuggss
StreetTalk has reached 8 figures in ARR and $100M in attributable revenue.
Today we're Introducing AGC: Authentic Generated Content™.
AGC is the world's first ad that nobody knows is an ad.
Advertising has become fake:
-Celebrity endorsements became Influencer Marketing.
-Influencer marketing became "UGC"
-and now we have AI UGC...
People want to buy from other people. 71% of consumers regret influencer driven purchases.
We built AGC to be completely different.
How it works:
1. We record hours of footage of real people using your product.
2. We clip these reactions into creative using our team of real human editors.
The key difference: instead of strategizing content, we shoot hours of real authentic reactions then we clips these reactions rather than the other way around.
It's @garyvee method of documenting and not creating.
So far it's working: on avg AGC leads to a 4x ROAS on new customer revenue.
Everything in my life has lead to this moment.
In highschool I was called “an idiot ”. I was in special ed. I dropped out of college with a 2.1 GPA with full conviction Street Interviews were the future of advertising.
I had a massive chip on my shoulder. I still do. I channel that energy into building StreetTalk. This is my life’s work.
If you’re a client, friend or supporter, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

We're hiring someone to babysit 8-figure founders.
Ok, not babysit. But close.
Hampton's Core Groups are ~10 founders who meet in person every month and say the stuff they can't say anywhere else. Each group is led by a Moderator, usually an ex-founder or exec who has been through it.
Those Mods are the whole product. If one is great, the founders get a killer year. If one is off, the group quietly stops showing up.
So we're hiring a Moderator Success Lead to own a portfolio of cities. Sourcing, hiring, training, coaching, and the awkward conversations nobody volunteers for. Group merges. Moderator exits. The stuff that doesn't fit in a Zapier.
Everyone is racing to automate their customer relationships right now. We're doing the opposite. This job is intentionally human.
You'd be a fit if you're the person who makes things run, you can read a room, you can tell a very accomplished 40 year old that their group isn't working, and you use AI to cover the boring 80% so you can spend your time on the 20% that actually matters.
NYC, in office Tuesday to Thursday. $80K to $110K plus bonus.
Apply, or send me the name of the person you're already thinking of (link in comment)

How to get honest feedback: THE GAP.
"Hey what would you rank this out of 10?" A meeting you just had, a performance, getting a reference check on a candidate...whatever. That's what you ask.
The answers are mostly always between 7 and 9.
"Awesome. What would need to get done to get those last points to make it a perfect 10?"
Typically people don't give good + helpful negative feedback. But...negative feedback (in my opinion) is the best way to improve. The Gap question is a great way to solicit it.
We do this at Hampton during Core groups to get feedback + help people have good convos. I do this when I do reference checks on employees. And we'll do it at the end of internal meetings.
It's a pretty good tool (like me).
