I grew up in Florida, and have slowly moved further north ever since college. At every stop along the way, I've been basically told by everyone, "Dude, you're going the wrong direction."
My old county is now largely unrecognizable from the steady growth.
Florida doesn't appeal to me (heat mostly), but I'm clearly the weirdo. Most people, when given chance, prefer what Fl offers to what NY, or Michigan does. Which mostly, when all is said and done, boils down to climate.
Sorry, but Florida is popular. And it's not that hard to understand why. 🐊🌴🍊

It was an awful day in 2019, when Tim Mayza blew out his elbow & tore his forearm. Spring training 2021 seemed far away. But missing 2020 might’ve been a blessing in disguise — despite at-home rehab, returning to a high school field & a Covid-19 diagnosis. thestar.com/sports/bluejays/…

As we try to destigmatize mental health challenges —we still call certain levels of fear unfounded or paranoid. Believe women who say they are feeling fear. It may not be danger apparent to all but it’s visceral to her.
Idea during escalating fear--personal or political--is to acknowledge your feelings, control your thoughts. Calm your central nervous system right down. Tell your fear, I hear you, fear, but you are not running the show.
