Friday CBB Play #3 〽️
Roddy Gayle O 7.5 Points - Michigan
Tough matchup for the Wolverines as they take on the Huskies, but this line still feels quite low for Gayle. Minutes are the key here. With Thiam out for the opener against Oakland, Gayle logged 17 points in 25 minutes, and he played 30 minutes in their exhibition against another elite team in Houston. Even with Thiam back, I expect Gayle to see the same or more minutes, since this should be a much tighter game. That matters because last season, when Gayle played 23+ minutes, he went over this line in 9 of 13 games and averaged 10.2 points. The shot volume is there too: he took 9 FGA against Oakland, and across his long college career he has scored 8+ points in 68 of 73 games with 7+ FGA. Michigan has a team total of 67.5 in this game, and Gayle has scored 31 of Michigan’s 150 points across the exhibition and the game he played, about 20% of the team’s scoring. That share projects to roughly 13.4 points tonight.
Friday CBB Play #2 🦡
Nolan Winter O 2.5 Offensive Rebounds (-140 Fliff) - 0.3u - Wisconsin
Weird prop, but love this spot for Winter. Winter is coming off a 14-rebound game in which he brought down 5 OREBs (35.7% of boards). This is not rare for Winter, who saw 26.7% of his Rebounds last season be offensive. The matchup intrigues me most. Delaware played Notre Dame MD in their first game, and at first glance it looks like they dominated the glass 48-28, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Delaware allowed 10 offensive rebounds to a team whose tallest starter is just 6'6. This would be Jahbreco Docasta, who brought down 3 offensive rebounds, and Nolan Winter stands at 7'0. Winter averaged 2.3 ORPG last season so just asking him to perform slightly above average in positive matchup. Will post full card sometime today.

Mallory went over this line in 24/36 games last season with nine hooks. Averaged 3.7 rebounds in 24.1 minutes last season.
With 24+ minutes last season, over in 14/18, averaging 4.4 rebounds. Exhibitions: 5 in 24 min vs Villanova. 3 in 13 min vs Richmond. Over 2.5 in 13/15 non-conference games (87%) vs 11/21 in conference play (52%) last season.
Just have to bite here for Mallory given the hit rate.

Lewis went over this line in 24/33 games last season at Villanova with three hooks. Averaged 12.2 points in 30.5 minutes last season at Villanova. Projecting him for 27-30 minutes, after 31 a game in one exhibition. With 27+ minutes last season, over in 19/25, averaging 13.4 points. Exhibitions: 23 on 12 FGA in 31 min vs Vanderbilt. In games with 10+ FGA last season, Lewis had 8+ PTS in 15/17. Pace is solid here: Florida played at 72.0 possessions per 40 last season (26th fastest). Against teams with a pace between 70.9 and 73.1 last season, Lewis averaged 13.0 points in 33 minutes, right at his usual rate (5 games). The UF defense is a tough matchup but 7.5 is a must take line for Lewis in his debut as a Hurricane. SZN PPG line is also set at 13.0.

Starting the season off with a bench player is probably the least sane choice, but here we are. Klavzar had two wildly different performances in Florida's exhibition games, scoring 0 PTS against Baylor and 24 against Stetson. In both games, he had solid volume, with 7 FGA against Baylor in 20 minutes and 14 FGA against Stetson in 30 minutes with Fland out. Klavzar went 0-5 from beyond the arc against Baylor, but this volume is very promising, as last season with 5+ 3PA he went over this line in 18/18 games. Klazvar will likely not get as much run as he did in the Stetson game since Fland will be playing; regardless, 12 3PA in 30 minutes is promising as well. 84 point team total for Florida per KenPom. In games where his team scored 79-89 last season, he went over 1.5 in 8/10 (80%), vs 60% overall. A lot of uncertainty with his minutes but last season when he played 19+, he went over this line in 16/20 games.

Juicy play to start the season especially for a bench player but its a very nice spot.
I expect a 20 minute range type of game from Klavzar here since Fland will be playing. That is plenty of court time for him to get some to this line.
When Klavzar saw at least 19 minutes last season he was over this line in 80% of games and he averaged 6.2 3PA per game in that stretch. If we get similar volume we don't even need an efficient performance.
Shooters did well against Miami last season since they primarily ran a zone. Shooters were able to find success in that matchup due to the space around the wings that the zone gives up. Klavzar should get the looks we just need a couple to fall.
CBB Opening Night Play 🚂
Caden Pierce U 23.0 PRA - Purdue
Have a total of 7 plays (not including ladders) posted in the discord along with pairs for this play. Way too high of a line here for Pierce who is playing his first game since the '24-25 season. Pierce put up the following PRA totals in Purdue's exhibitions: 9 in 19 min vs Ball State, 7 in 19 min vs Purdue Fort Wayne, 10 in 23 min vs UConn (under 23.0 in 3/3). In these games he had a total of 13 FGA, which is equivalent to 4.3 FGA/Game. With ≤ 7 FGA in his last season, he went over this line in 0/9 games, averaging 12.67 PRA. This line is simply too optimistic for a guy who averaged 21.6 PRA in the Ivy League two seasons back.
