When your mail is delayed, your medications arrive late, or your packages get lost—remember it’s because two billionaires decided to fire thousands of mail carriers and cut billions in essential funding for USPS for NO reason except to break government & enrich themselves.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy plans to cut 10,000 workers and billions of dollars from the U.S. Postal Service budget and he'll do that working with Elon Musk's DOGE, according to a letter sent to members of Congress.

One person not mentioned in @heidigroover’s piece is @AbpEtienne and the Seattle archdiocese which is in the middle of a once in a generation land transfer process. I’ve asked to meet with the archdiocese to see how #waleg can help, but so far rebuffed.
I wish we could work collaboratively to seize this transformative moment and leave a legacy for @AbpEtienne that’s rooted in the very earliest moments of our faith and values — when a family had no room at the inn. I’m going to work to make that happen with all tools of #waleg
Other Catholic and formerly Catholic legislators are interested in this issue as well, so we will be working together to make something happen but I’d love to do this in partnership with @AbpEtienne and the Archdiocese, if only they’d open the door! *sigh* Maybe next year #waleg
What did we want? A waterfront park with green space and pedestrian room and a bike lane. What did we get? gas powered tourist shuttle and 6 lanes of stop and go traffic and a freeway ramp on Alaskan to make it easier for cruisers to get to the airport. Love this town.
Happy first day of session! A reminder that I’ve moved to 🧵🪡 so catch me there @juliareed_wa for political stuff and @staterepjuliareed for floor debate live tweets and official stuff
Moving to the 🧵 app? I’m likely going to be doing more comms there than on Twitter this session/going forward. Follow me! Just like on Twitter, I have 2 accounts: @votejuliareed for day to day stuff and @staterepjuliareed for live tweets (threads?) and official. Follow me!

What this local win on parking illustrates is the power of statewide reform.
Through rulemaking, Oregon enacted a clever law that gives cities a choice:
1 - do a lot of work to keep parking mandates
2 - get rid of parking mandates and be done with it
Tonight, on a 4-3 council vote, Eugene became the 9th Oregon city to repeal costly parking mandates citywide.
Eugene, pop. 175,000, is Oregon's 3rd most populous city.
Eight of Oregon's largest 12 cities have repealed their parking mandates.

No. Sorry. They are not “collateral damage” they are human beings who happen to have been born there and live there and most of those human beings are stuck there. Have some compassion, they are Palestinians not buildings or roads or things, they are human beings and so are the hostages whose lives you may also be destroying. They aren’t “collateral damage” either.

King County Elections expects to add approximately 20,000 ballots in today’s 4 p.m. results update. That 20,000 number is lower than usual because our building was evacuated this morning after we received a letter containing white powder.

As I note in the story, this work was planned before her death and all indications are the intersection's design would not have stopped the officer, who was driving 74 mph
The site of Jaahnavi Kandula's death will become Seattle's first "protected intersection." st.news/3QwmTdO
